Q: 2010 honda civic lx subwoofer wiring?
Hi everyone! I want to get a nice stereo system, I would say +- $600 and I need both the car diagram for hooking the subs in with all the wires and stuff and I need a good recommendation for good subs I can get with that budget I specified. Will I need to buy an aftermarket deck for a new civic? I assume newer car have everything needed :b

A: Fi audio have very good service and fittings. Kicker and MTX subs blow everything. No consult the shop owner about what to have from the car maker before hand. There might be some different variations needed in car alternator, wirings and capacitors etc.

Q: new 2010 honda civic LX transmission question?
So I just got a new 2010 Honda Civic. When I'm driving I let off of the pedal it seems as though I'm still in gear as the car slows down, like I'm down shifting in a manual. Especially when I'm going like 20 or so MPH and let off the gas it feels like it is jerking me slowly to a stop. It just doesn't seem like a normal thing. It doesn't feel like it's coasting, it is definitely slowing me down. Is this a product of the type of computer controlled transmission or should I have the dealership look at it? I don't think it's a CVT, It just says on their website, "Compact 5-Speed Automatic Transmission" "Gear Ratios: 1st: 2.666, 2nd: 1.534, 3rd: 1.022, 4th: 0.721, 5th: 0.525, Reverse: 1.957, Final Drive: 4.44" I also can definitely feel it shifting. When I'm on the highway I can feel it shift down into the gears as they slow me down.

A: Back tho the dealer.

Q: 2009 vs 2010 Honda Civic LX?
What's the difference between the two models? I've been looking through pictures to see what's the difference but either they look the same or people just confuse the pictures for these 2 years. Can you also provide me with pictures to help me see the difference? Thanks a bunch.

A: There are no changes from the 2009 to the 2010 model. There were minor changes from 2008 to 2009. Honda doesn't change the features every year. Honda uses a cycle on when they change the appearance of the vehicles. They will usually go about 3 years between any changes.

Q: When can I buy a 2010 honda civic coupe LX, every time i go to dealerships all they have are the 2009 civics!?

A: Like everyone else said. It's usually around September when stealerships roll out 2010 models. If you can wait about one month (almost to the day) to pick up a Civic, go with an '09. It will be the same as the '10 and half the price. Start looking about the end of July, that's when stealerships are on crunch time to make their quota.

Q: 2010 Honda Civic vs. 2010 Hyundai Elantra?
I'm looking to get a new car, either the 2010 Honda Civic LX Sedan or the 2010 Hyundai Elantra GLS. I'm a 19-year-old college student. I just want the car that is more reliable and comfortable to drive. Whichever one will cost less to maintain and last me longer. Any suggestions?

Q: 2009 honda civic coupe lx or 2010 toyota corolla s?
hello im a 17 year old male. my sister has recently taken her car off to college (which i used to drive) and my dad is planning on buying me a brand new car due to various other reasons XD. anyways which is the better car the civic lx or corolla s? i heard the corolla has handling problems and such for the 2009 model but i was wondering if they fixed that in the 2010 model? also from the reviews i hear its "soccer mom" car and its boring to drive for a teen like me. the civic is a little bit more expensive with a slight less gas mileage but id rather have fun driving a civic than having better mileage with the corolla. so plz tell me if you own any of these cars and how you like it thanks. im going to get a manual transmission btw (my first time driving stick too)

A: I currently own a 1997 Toyota Corolla, up to date we have had no problems, no minor or major at all!! So they are very reliable. The Corolla S looks better than a Civic LX, and No there are no problems with the handling. The corolla IS NOT boring to drive, its fun! The Honda Civic, is more of the soccer mom car. I can say this the Honda is more fun to drive, but the Corolla is Smoother and more reliable. So if i were you i'd go with the Corolla. Either wau its up to you, Good Luck! :-)

Q: honda civic gas mileage?
According to fueleconomy.gov... The 2010 Honda Civic LX gets 25 city, 36 highway, and 29 combined with a 5 speed automatic transmission & 2010 Honda Civic LX gets 26 city, 34 highway, and 29 combined with a 5 speed manual transmission Compared to these two vehicles with 2 different types of transsmission, I don't understand why a manual transmission gets 26 city & 34 highway & why an automatic transmission gets 25 city & 36 highway. Which one actually gets better gas mileage? or, Is the current gas mileage listed correct? And, Do modern automatic transmission get better gas mileage because manual is a old style standard transmission? I don't get it. Can anyone explain to me what is true and what is false? I'm also planning on getting a 2010 Honda Civic LX with a manual transmission which i am preferring mostly but i wanna know which is best overall in terms of gas mileage (which concerns me the most with high gas prices), reliability, and price. Also, I know that automatic transmission offers comfortable driving and that i have to fully shift the transmission manually which is painful in traffic because i first drove my mom's old lexus with automatic transmission when i got my license few years ago and right i drive a 5 speed manual transmission which i like most of the time. I would prefer manual right now because i am still young in my 20's and i more of a outgoing and energetic person. Also, if i get a new 2010 honda civic LX manual transmission, How long would my clutch disk last before it would start slipping when i accelerate? I don't race or treat and abuse the clutch badly on my car, also i never drift, dont even know how, and not even 100% concerns about drifting. I just drive normally and sometimes speed if i have to if i am in a rush. I mostly drive in city streets and about 30-40% freeway sometimes, but can you guys anyone tell me the durabilty of the clutch just based on just CITY DRIVING NOT Freeway? So that 100% city driving with a new clutch disk. One last thing, from what i have heard of in my experiences, I heard that manual transmissions are much better in gas mileage and more reliable in terms of repairs for example when i have to do a clutch disk job at like over 150K. Can the new honda civic's automatic transmission beat the standard manual transmission because of the newest technologies build inside the motor? Thanks so much in advanced!!!~ :)

A: Your questions all depend on how you drive. If you are really as generous to the car as you say you are, and you can drive standard well, then your clutch will last you a very long time, probably longer than most other parts in the car. If you can't drive a standard as well as most (eg. you drop the clutch, have rough takeoffs, burn tires when you leave, drop gears) and when you drive your ride isn't as smooth as an automatic, then you shouldn't get the standard transmission, it will wear out faster than you'd like. In terms of gas mileage, the standard is always the better choice. simply because you have control over your RPMs. the lower your RPMs, the less gas you are using. with an automatic transmission, you can't determine that. A tip to save on gas is to keep the car in nuetral whenever you don't need to accelerate or when your coasting down a hill. this leaves the car in idle (500 - 1000 RPM) while gravity does its work.

Q: Honda Civic road noise?
I just bought honda civic 2010 LX which is kind of noisy on the road. is it normal? Should I take it back to dealer to look? I also have Honda pilot which is very quite comparatively. It has GoodYear tires, are they the culprit? any expert advice is appreciated

A: Depends on what you are accustomed to driving, if you are used to luxury or touring cars with plush rides, the honda will seem harsh and noisy. If youve driven other cars of this norm then perhaps there is a problem, the tires have a large impact on ride quality and noise, goodyear makes great tires, however if the tread design is agressive it will be noisy, before you bought the car did you not notice the noise, assuming its a new car the dealership will inspect and test drive the car under warranty without cost to you. Drive another car of the same ilk and see if it sounds the same.Your honda pilot is a whole other animal, its got a great suspension and is pretty forgiving on the road. Maybe the car was damaged in transit before you received it and has latent defects. Relax youve got Honda warranty, unless you caused the damage, the warranty should cover any repairs. good luck

Q: Why is my 2010 Honda Civic getting bad city mpg?
I don't even use the A/C right now and I'm only getting 16mpg in the city. Is this because i drive through a route with too many stop signs? I don't gun it after a stop either. Also, I have 850 miles and the break-in period is over. My trunk is empty too! Since my mother drives freeways, I had her drive it and she got about 33mpg. What could be wrong? Any tips? I have an LX-S if that makes any difference.

A: There is nothing wrong. It's still too new. The A/C does run when you use defrost mode, which does impact gas mileage. The highway mileage indicates the car is running properly. Just give it more time. I don't know where you live, but cold weather makes a car consume far more fuel. Once you put more miles on, the city gas mileage will go way up. Honestly, don't worry. Absolutly do not put any alcohol, or fuel treatments in your vehicle. I will solve nothing and possibly cause damage.

Q: Toyota Matrix vs Honda Civic LX. Opinions? Also what is a fair OTD price on the Matrix?
Matrix seems fun but Civic seems practical. I've done too much research on both and am now completely unsure of what I want. Any opinions from someone who has driven one or both? Also, we got an OTD price on a new 09 civic of $17150. What's fair for a 2010 matrix?

Q: Honda Civic Lx.....How to talk down a dealer.?
Ok so I found a 09 Honda Civic Lx. Its preowned and has 2300 miles on it. They are asking $16995. Another dealer priced the same car but a 2010 model brand new for $18395. Its ridiculous to me to pay that much for a preowned year older vehicle. Please. If I'm gonna pay that much I'm getting the brand new one. Anyways my question is how much do you think I can talk him down? At a OTD price? And how should I do? Right now we're negotiating through the internet. I'm not even going up there until he comes down on it. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help. This is my first new car purchase. Or new to me. lol

A: Well first things first are you paying the car off in payments or full price cash? Reason i asked because professional sales men are trained to lower prices but jack up intrest rates. If your paying it off in cash talk with him over the internet and negociate a price and debate with him, and then in person bring the cash, start counting it out in his face, and say look i got 16k on me take it or leave it, i seen a nice toyota down the street i might just go buy. Its all about mind power, controlling and persuasding the oppenent. Now he may say o0o i cant, but most work on commission, so make him go get answers and not just give you off the top of his head. Ask to speak to the sales manager or franchise owner and if they inseed higher prices stil then talk about other brands you saw. Hope it helps

Q: What to look for in an exhaust tip?
I have a 2010 Honda Civic LX coupe and I'm trying to put a new exhaust tip on it. I know that the stock exhaust tip is a clamp on and can simply be removed. What do I look for in an exhaust tip though? What is the difference between a straight cut and an angle cut? What sounds better? Anything knowledge shared about exhaust tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

A: There isn't much to know about exhaust tips. They are for decoration only. They do not affect performance at all. All you need to do is find one that fits. Measure the outside diameter of your exhaust pipe and use that to find the correct tip size. As for selection, here is Summit Racing's inventory of 907 exhaust tips. Q: Anyone get a good deal on 09 or 2010 Honda Civics?
I wanna know how good of a deal anyone got on their 09 or 2010 Honda Civic Coupe. I'm looking at Lx bc its cheaper. Can ya tell me how much you got yours for and if you got yours in Oklahoma or Texas please let me know where so I can hopefully get a good deal there to. Thanks so much. Also any way you think I could talk them down would be helpful. This is my first new car purchase and I want a good deal.

A: i just bought an 09 LX (sedan not a coupe) last week, $16,900 with a $700 trade allowance for a late 90s model car that was broken down and probably worth about scrap only, so i basically paid $16,200 (but then ~$1000-1500 in taxes/title/fees etc which youll get hit with on any car). i live in the midwest. i went to 2 different dealerships and both told me no when i asked to go much lower so i think i got a good price, one of the dealerships was almost out of 09s so if theyre really trying clearance them out you might get a better deal. basically just ask for a lower price, dont give in to their pressure. dont go in and buy the same day, walk away if you arent getting a price you want, you can always come back. do research and see what other people are paying, what the invoice price vs current dealer holdbacks and incentives, what your trade-in is worth, etc. consumer reports sells a report with all that info in it for like $15, i didnt buy i though

Q: which car insurance is cheaper ?
I'm planing to lease a corolla LE 2010 or camry LE 2010 or Honda civic LX 2010, but I like honda more but I was told the liability coverage that honda required is high so it make my payment more, is this right?

A: You have been misinformed about the liability part. Simply call an agent and get a quote for each type of car. No one here can give you the info. you are seeking.

Q: Why are 2010 corollas cheaper than 2009 civics?
With trade in and discounts, I was offered a 2010 corolla s model for 11700 and a 2009 honda civic lx for 14777. Why the big difference? They both have power everything and cruise. The corolla actually has more if you consider the sports package..better wheels, fog lights, rear spoiler, etc.

A: Because Toyotas are traditionally cheaper than Hondas. Why? I think it's because Toyota is more aggressive offering more incentives and low financing. They are willing to sacrifice profit to secure the #1 sales position. For example..... these are recent advertisements in local paper: '09 Camry LE auto $16,900 '09 Accord LX auto $19,500 '09 Corolla LE auto $10,900 '09 Civic LX auto $15,500 My brother paid $15,900 for his brand new Camry few years ago (MSRP over $22k). He could've bought one for $14,900 but they were only in white color.
