Q: Won a silent auction on a 2008 honda civic dx brand new o km for $ 14000 no waranty,is this worth it.?
A: The DX is the lowest trim available. If you can live without a radio, remote entry, body colored mirrors, variable wipers, power windows, power locks, cruise control, arm rest, map lights, AUX jack and last but not least A/C.
How it has 0km and no warranty is hard to believe. We sell 200 cars a month and every one has mileage on it.
None the less if you get a Civic near invoice it's a good deal.
Q: does anyone know the canadian invoice price of a honda civic 2008 dx, dx-g , dx-a sedan?
A: check honda canada (google it)
Q: I have a 1998 Honda Accord DX with 198K miles and a bad transmission. What should I do? Is repairs worth it?
I'm interested in getting a new 2008 Honda Civic and would love to trade my 1998 Honda to get it. Would making repairs be worth it? Would a store like Carmax take my car in it's current condition?
Would a dealer or Carmax take my car with it's high mileage and a bad transmission? I know the repairs are probably not worth it. I would hate to drive there and they say no.
A: I'd get rid of it, you might only get 1500-2000 on a trade in but a new car is like a new life, go for it and enjoy.
edit: Dude if you are going to buy a new car, you will get a trade in anywhere, dont tell them anything that is wrong with the car, just take it there and use it as a trade in.
Q: I need to sell my 96 honda civic?
It a 96 honda civic dx, 4 door with ac and heating, works great Has a had damage to the passenger back door, It has 128, 000 miles on it. New rotors and breaks tagged for Jan 2008. The heads are out on it, I believe that is what my mechanic told me. But there is new tires on it, lowered and Im asking 900.00 obo.
A: Do you have a question, or are you advertising here in violation of the Yahoo answers terms of service?
If you want to get top dollar for your vehicle, have the repairs made! Selling a car like that with a bad motor, you will be lucky to get half your asking price!
Modifying the suspension (lowering) the car reduces the resale value. The body damage also reduces the value.
Q: 2008 Nissan Rouge or 2008 Honda Civic CRV? Your thoughts?
The Rogue has 170hp. The Civic has 166hp. HP is a no brainer. Rogue wins hands down. But the Rogue is a brand new model. Looks like a scaled down version of the Murano. The Honda Civic has proven itself track record wise. Fully loaded Rouge is about $22,000. Fully loaded CRV depending on the model type EX, DX blah-blah can range from $22,000 $23,000, up to $30,000. Your thoughts?
A: CRV, wait a few years to see how the Rouge sells. This gives you few years to enjoy your Honda and time for Nissan to work out any bugs. If a model doesn't sell well companies will cut their losses quick and drop it. Which leaves the customer looking and paying high prices for parts and labor.
Q: what are the pros and cons of these car?
I would like to have some basic info and the pros and cons of these following cars. they are all under $20000 I believe. Honda Civic dx 2008, toyota corolla s 2009, mitsubishi lancer es 2009, subaru impreza 2008. n personally I prefer the look of the lancer n it seems a bit more sporty than the others; however, would it be a nice choice for purchase? THanks for answering!
A: Dude, the ONLY way to find out, is go test drive them all, maybe twice, or more. Everybody has an opinion (there kinda like butt-holes) cause they all stink. Your buying, you decide.
Q: Buying a brand new honda?
Iam planning to buy a brand new 2008 honda civic coupe DX, i found a dealer that has a few in stock and one of them is Alabaster Silver Metallic color just what i wanted. The price tag on it is a little over $15,000 but iam gona try and lower that. I called them for a quote and had this lady tell me that the DX model dont have A/C or radio, i lied to her and said i was a automotive technition and that i find it hard to belive that it dont come with A/C she told me she would call back and never did lol I wonder why haha. Iam 19 years of age and will be attending college in fall so iam looking for a reliable car within my budget and all that extra stuff does not intrest me in any way. I have very limited credit history, so my intrest will most likely be 14% which iam also gona try to lower. I got a stedy job making around $1300 a month so finance is my way to go. Could someone please give me some edvice on how to use dealers strategy against them, cause i know they are a bunch of liers.

Q: Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic?
I am buying a new car by the end of this month. I test drove both 2008 models last night. I have been driving an older Toyota Corolla for 7 years. I have seen the comparison charts and all that and they are nearly the same in all departments.
I just want to know from people's personal experiences which I should go with and WHY? I am not considering any other cars.
BTW, it will be either the Corolla CE model or the Civic DX model. I am trying to keep it at about 16k or less.
A: Both are great cars and thank God that you have luxury to choose!!!
Civic would be the best choice. More driveable since its torque of 17.5kgm comes at around 4300rpm, while Corolla has a slightly lower torque rating 16.1kgm @4200rpm... Performance-wise, Civic would best the Corolla anytime.
The "oomph" factor would be better with a Civic, than with Corolla... the digital instrumentation etc... a total drivers car. The car to go for if you are doing the driving.
Negatives for Civic would be 1. Low ground clearance 2. Tyre wear 3. Suspension (rear) has a habit of bottoming out. But these are minor issues compared to the postives this car has. Go ahead buddy... book the Civic... in black or blue... :-)

Q: Kyokugen lug nuts, anyone ever own them?
I bought a 95 Honda Civic DX back in August of this year (2008). I got it for $2,150.00 with 165k mileage.
It came with 15 inch Rota rims. Brass looking spokes, and my friends thought they were awesome. They also came with Kyokugen lug nuts which required a special key in order to take them off/put them on.
The driver's front tire recently got a flat on the freeway. The valve/stem was partially ripped and it caused a leak. I tried changing the tire and managed to get two lug nuts off. When I went to take off the third, the key cracked. It doesn't get a good grip anymore.
I couldn't get the last two lug nuts off at all. My brother came with all of his tools and we tried everything. We tried hammering another socket into it, but it ended up stripping one of the lug nuts. We tried using clamps and it didn't work.
A 16mm socket is just too small, and a 17mm is just too big. If they made a 16 1/2 mm socket, that would get a good grip.
I had to call a tow truck and towed it home ($180). Now I'm waiting for my special key which I ordered online ($22), and it won't be getting here for another week.
I read up online that these special lug nuts are 7-sided (standard lug nuts are 6-sided). They are specifically used for anti-theft, to keep anyone from stealing your rims.
I also read up on a forum that some guy had to literally chisel a lug nut (the brand wasn't mentioned) off the rim. He hammered it until it cracked.
But I did read that Kyokugen lug nuts are its own enemy. The key and lug nuts can easily strip and they're just useless, waste of money.
Now that I'm done with my long story, can anyone out there tell me if they've owned or currently own these lug nuts?
If you do/have, have you ever ran into a problem like this?
If you've never owned them, would you ever consider buying them for anti-theft reasons?
Have you ever had a different brand of special lug nuts? Did you run into an similar problems?
Did you ever have a friend or relative that had any sort of lug nut problem?
I want to know!
I'm sorry to hear that, Jorgie. But I'm happy you got them off.
Thanks Dodge Man, I had a local mechanic try to weld the key closed, but the crack opened up again.
I've considered getting a socket welded onto it, but I don't have a weld or anyone willing to come and weld sockets to the lug nuts.
Thank you for the answers!
A: mine on my nissan did the same thing that's what they sent when i bought the wheels for it take those off an throw them away and use chrome ones on it the ones they use with the wheels are bad to do that, you can lightly weld an old socket on to them and get them off is what i done and i threw mine away other lug nuts will fit on the wheels, the sockets they provide are security sockets and very poorly built, they don't last too long, good luck.
Q: Install an XM Satellite Radio on my 2008 Honda Civic DX and need to find the antenna. Not visible?
I looked at the owner's manual and my next step is to call the dealer. Does anyone know where the radio antenna is located?
A: The radio antenna on your civic is integrated into the rear windsheild. Are you installing an add-on xm radio unit or are you replacing the radio that came with the car?
I have a feeling that you are looking for the car's antenna to find the spot where you should install the xm antenna to transmit via FM signal to your radio. My second suggestion is that I'm pretty sure that the 2008 civics have an AUX input, or an auxilary input that you can use to plug your xm reciever in, in leiu of using the FM transmit function.
I'm not sure if I helped, but if you put more information up I'm sure people will be able to help out more.
What kind of XM radio are you installing, and if you are using a mounting kit, what kind...etc, stuff like that.
