Q: Is an 2008 honda civic an appropriate first car?
I'll be graduating this June from high school and I'll be getting a car for my graduation! I found a 2008 Honda civic LX coupe that I adore. It's sporty it's cute, and I'd like to be seen in it! Someone said it's a sports car but do insurance companies consider it a ''real sports car''? Anyways just wondering if you car people think it's a good first car. Thanks in advance!
A: It should be 4-door, 4-cyls, not sporty. I would prefer Honda or Toyota... First time drivers usually have much more expensive car insurance, and it depends from car. You should compare insurance rates while choosing the car - for example here - carquotes.sinfree.net

A: yeah, the stock stereo is weak. did you check scosche?

Q: I just bought a 2008 Honda Civic (rebuilt title) and I smell gas, what could it be?
I just bought a rebuilt car (08 civic) and I noticed that every time I drive it and stop the car, it gives me a scent of gasoline. Only when I stop or park the car. What could be causing that?
A: You should not smell gasoline unless the cap on the filler spout is open. Check under your hood for any leaks, as this can be a dangerous condition.
If you can determine the location of the leak (most likely at the fuel pump on the gas tank or in the injector manifold, and are handy with tools you might attempt to fix this. Be very careful as the manifold pressures are very high and you must use proper care to avoid spilling or sudden depressurization, the Maintenance manual will have a procedure for this.
If you are at all uncomfortable with working on the gas system, take it to a qualified mechanic.
Q: what would be good gas mileage for a 2008 honda civic?
its not a hybrid but i've been getting 180-200 miles on one tank and that seems a little low to me. what's the average?
A: Should be getting much better than that - more like an average of 345 mile per tank.
Unless you're only driving in severe stop-and-go traffic. That still sounds low, but it's possible.
Q: How do you adjust the headlights on a 2008 honda civic.?

Q: 2008 Honda Civic, I need a code to get the Radio working?
I removed the stereo and fixed it, and now it says enter code. Is there a factory code? Im trying to find the manual. but I wondered if there is a factory code, and how do You enter it,
Thank You,, if anyone knows
It has some Anti-Theft system.
A: you need the anti-theft code to reactivate the stereo. there are a few ways to get it
1) if you have the paperwork that came with the car, there should be a white credit card sized piece of plastic with the owners manual that has the code on it.
2) if you can't find the card, look on the inside walls of the glove box for a white sticker. That sticker should have a 5 digit code. that is your anti-theft code for the radio.
3) if you can't find either, then follow this procedure
with the key in the igintion turned "ON" but the radio turned off, hold in the radio preset station buttons numbered 1 & 6 at the same time. Then, while holding them in, turn the radio ON. You will see a set of 5 numbers and letters come up on the display starting with the letter U. release the station buttons. A second set of numbers and letter will come up starting with the letter L.
write both sets of those numbers down. that is the serial number for the radio. then, call any Honda dealer service department and ask them to look up the code for you. it takes about a minute.
if you bought the car new, call the dealer you bought it from as they may have the code on file without having to go through looking it up
hope that helps

Q: what type of adapter do i need to listen to my ipod in my 2008 honda civic?
and where would i get it for cheap? and how much
ive seen some at target for 15$ but im not sure if its the right type
thanks!
A: You will need a double male jack like the one in the link below. You can go to any electronics store and ask for the cable.
Plug it in the headphone jack of your iPod/Zune and then in the center stack next to the power outlet, plug the other end in the AUX jack. It will come on right when you plug it in if the car is on. If you plug it all in before starting the car push the AUX button on dash or use mode button on steering wheel to get to the AUX.

Q: How do You remove the stereo from a 2008 Honda Civic?
My sister stuck a CD. in Her player and there was already one in there, its jammed now, and the slot is the size of the CD. and I cant find any screws under the dash, does the front plate snap off? or is there some screws somewhere,? Ive worked on many cars but this ones weird,. Thanks for Your help.
Mike
A: Unclip the knee bolster panel under the steering wheel, this will expose a screw to the left of the wheel.
next unclip the panel above the wheel and gauges.
go back under the radio and remove the panel thats in the little pocket, that will expose 2 8mm bolts.
you should now be able to remove the whole radio/ a/c piece. if you want to take the radio unit off that, flip it over and its held in with screws.
