Q: What size tires and rims do I need for my Honda Civic 2007 DX 4dr?
What size tires and rims do I need for my Honda Civic 2007 DX 4dr?

A: You can put size 17 or 18 inch tires and rims. It depends on your taste. But i suggest you go for 17. 215/40/17 or 215/45/17, for better ride and also for practicality coz size 18 is much expensive than size 17. Hope this helps!

Q: Where online can I find an affordable catback system for my 2007 Honda Civic DX coupe?
It must be stainless steel, not really obvious tailpipe and good sound. Experienced answers only please. The primary reason for the catback is to improve performance while not affecting current mpg. I also want the nice sound of an easier breathing system. The sound I am looking for is the sound similar to the Civic SI, but with more presence. No coffee can sounds please. One more detail ---> Looking for AFFORDABLE and SOUND quality without impacting MPG. Thanks all!

A: Id definetly check out ebay for first. And if you cant find one on there go to Andysautosport.com My favorite is GREddy. Congrats on not throwing a friggin bean can on it! Atleast your going catback.

Q: 2007 honda civic dx-g?
im thinking of buying a 2007 honda civic dx-g for 14, 900....i know that that is a fairly good price for a 2007 honda. but what im wondering is, are they really that good? is there anything that people have been having troubles with on them? are they good on the highway? are they good in canadian winters and our occasionally hot summers? would a civic or a 06 pontiac G6 be a better decision? just fill me in with whatever information you know about them...thanks in advance..

A: The DX does not come with Air Conditioning. Even if you won't use it, the next person will want it. Not having A/C will seriously hurt your resale value. We don't even stock the DX. Get the LX. It is a better value Or consider a Honda Fit if you trying to stay in that price bracket. Great Car.

Q: What is the wheel offset (in mm) for a 2007 Honda Civic DX?

A: i believe it is the same as a ex which would be 45mm.

Q: 2007 honda civic si dx? is it real ? whats it about? si come in auto in canada?
I've been looking into civics ... 2007's . . . but i came across an add and it says a 2007 civic si "dx" ? whats this all about?

A: sometimes people attempt to replicate higher model trim levels like an si out of lower level trims like a dx. this is why while the car has all the features of an si, it is still really just a dx with upgrades. these replicas can be very true to what it is trying to match but most of the time its just a p.o.s. that some idiot put some tints and an intake on it thinks its god gift the world

Q: Question for ppl who own a 2007 honda civic ex,lx,dx?
Im about to buy the car I want opinion of the downside from you... When you sit down does it bother you that the emergency break is next to your knee? When you look into the window toward looking at how fast your going how much of your view gets blocked is it bad? Is there anything else like it being cheap on some parts inside? Thanks in advance1 Also is the speed in mph or kmh?>

A: I dont own a 2007 Honda Civic, but my cousin does. She owns a 07' Honda Civic EX Coupe. No, it doesnt really bother me, it just feels like any other car. When you do look toward the window, the speed gauge cluster thing is not a problem. It only blocks about, what? Maybe 2/10000000 things you see. Nope, i dont think any else is cheap in the car. But I do want some leather in the car, not plain old cloth. ;D And the speed for US is MPH. Rest of the worls is KM/H but you can change the speed to MPH to KM/H or KM/H to MPH. There is a button that you press to change it.

Q: Honda Civic 2007 for SUV Trade or Re-Sale - Best Option? Advice Needed!?
I recently purchased a 2007 Honda Civic DX Base Model about 4 months ago, at a price of $17,500, plus $2000 down payment including Tax/Licensing/Plate/Deaer Fees, for a total of $19500. I have owned it for 4 months now, financed the car for 4.9% APR for 5 years, and I currently owe $16k on the vehicle, at a monthly payment of almost exctly $300 per month, with 4.5 years remaining. The car is in pristine shape, no accidents, or damages. It has about 7500 highway miles on it, and looks and drives perfectly new. I obviously love the car, but I think I need a bigger car - an SUV would be great. Can someone give me advice on what I can do to either (1) Trade my Honda for a comparable SUV? or (2) How I can re-sell it outside of a dealership for best value? Should I go to a dealership? The same Honda dealership told me that I can trade it in for $13k, which seems ridiculous to me. Help?

A: The 2008 CRV's are on the market dropping the price on the 2007 CRV. http://www.craigslist.org is a free site for advertisements. Perhaps list the CRV for $20K and see if you can make some money after you pay the loan.

Q: Headlights on a 2007 Honda Civic?
I have a 2007 Honda Civic DX-G. I am changing the headlights to a much brighter set as the stock ones are very dull. I have a pair of headlights that are Lumiko XEONON HID WHITE, specs are 9004 12v 65/45w. Can I put these in my civic? If not, what do I look for when I go to purchase headlights? Thanks

A: No the 9004 bulbs wont work. You need a 9005 for the high beam and a 9006 for the low beam.

Q: What are the main differences between the LX and DX models of the 2007 Honda Civic?

A: The DX is a very, very base model, while the LX adds several additional features, like air conditioning, cruise control, MP3/auxiliary input jack, and security with remote entry. If you go to the website listed under Source(s), you should see a table with the different trim levels, and a link at the top of the table that says "View detailed descriptions for each trim level." Click on that link, and it will bring up a window that shows what the DX offers, and then what the LX, EX, and EX with Satellite Navigation adds or replaces to the previous trim line, respectively. Hope this helps!

Q: My friend wants a turbocharger for his honda civic. How to install?
My friend owns a 2007 Honda Civic DX if i remember correctly. He wants to install the turbocharger himself with the help of me. The only problem is that I have no experience in installing turbos and need all the information I can get(as detailed as possible). Is this a cost effective way of increasing horsepower? Can his engine handle the extra compression? What are some of the added/unexpected costs of installing one? What new parts are required? Where can I buy a turbo charger suited to his car? What brands to look for and others to stay away from? Im very sorry for the long list of questions and I perfectly understand if you are not willing to answer the question with all the time it will take however I thank those who do and greatly appreciate it. please people...I cant choose a best answer if i dont have sources to prove anything...I have talked to a licensed mechanic and he said as long as the pressure remained under 7psi there should be no extra needed parts. A tune up would be required. I have to choose the BEST which still unfortunatly had no sources. I still thank everyone for taking their time to write to me and share their insight.

A: I wouldn't install it if you don't know A LOT about engines. It's wayyyy too easy to destroy your engine. turbos are a great way to get a lot more performance out of your engine, and there are several companies to look at. For your application, I would suggest looking at Comptech or Greddy. Also, I would only run at about 8-10 psi, unless you upgrade the internals of the engine, so that you don't blow the engine. Civics are commonly turboed, so it shouldn't be anything unheard of for whatever mechanic you do bring it to (assuming that you do, which I do strongly suggest). Also, buy the kit, not just a turbo, so you should get all the parts you will need, and will not need to make anything from scratch. Hope I answered all your questions.

Q: Can i put a Honda civic si spoiler on a dx? (2007 dx)?

A: Yes you can since they are the same body style, but if you have the rear brake light on the spoiler you will just have to do re wireing to make it go off when you press the brake pedal. unless you dont want to go through the trouble, i would just buy a cheap spoiler the same kind of style and get someone at a garage or something to do it for you, if you do not know how to put a spoiler on a car.

Q: where to splice power for car head unit?
my 2007 Honda civic DX came with no wiring for any audio component at all, it didn't even come with a stock wiring harness. so i was going to put it in only i don't know where to splice in the power cables, do i run the wire trough the firewall and to the battery or can i splice into the cables under the steering column. there is a 12 volt constant and a 12 volt switched that need to connected

A: the radio harness is still there, usually clipped on lower in the dash opening. if for some odd reason you car doesnt have it then i would grab power from the fuse box.

Q: What is the difference between regular and semi-syntheic oil?
I drive a 2007 Honda Civic DX_G, In the manual, and according to the dealer, It says I should be using SEMI Synthetic oil... I have called a few different shops, and they have said "its not a big deal, you can use regular oil, it wont hurt anything" Only once, have I ever taken my car into the actual Honda dealership for an oil change, however, I don't think they used synthetic oil.. Only because all the other mechanics i have called, said it would be between $80-90 for an oil change using synthetic or semi synthetic.. Honda only charged me $55... The car is a year old, and I've been using regular oil... What does this mean? PLEASE leave detailed answers!! THANK YOU!!!! Honda Guy, I WISH my dealer only charged $29.99 for an oil change... They charge $49.99 plus tax.. Almost every other place charges $29... Obviously I'd want to have my car maintained by Honda, but they dont make that easy. They over charge! (on EVERYTHING!) Thank you both for your answers!

A: Conventional motor oil is petroleum based, A synthetic oil is made from a non-petroleum base Synthetic motor oils have been made from the following classes of lubricants: Polyalphaolefin (PAO) = American Petroleum Institute (API) Group IV base oil Synthetic esters, etc = API Group V base oils (non-PAO synthetics, including diesters, polyolesters, alklylated napthlenes, alkyklated benzenes, polyglycols etc.) a semi-synthetic motor oil is a petroleum based motor oil that has synthetic additives that are mixed into a conventional petroleum base oil. Those additives are chemically formulated to change the way the oil flows, changes the ability of the oil to handle high temperatures and changes the ability of the oil to lubricate moving parts. Semi-synthetic oil Semi-synthetic oils (also called 'synthetic blends') are blends of mineral oil with no more than 30% synthetic oil. Designed to have many of the benefits of synthetic oil without matching the cost of pure synthetic oil. Lubricants which have synthetic base stocks even lower 30%, high performance additive packs consisting of esters can also be considered as synthetic lubricants. Almost every quality oil today is a semi-synthetic blend oil. My local Honda dealer buys its oil in bulk from ExxonMobil. The oil they use is 'semi-synthetic' and they charge $29.95 for an oil change on a Civic. If you've been using a national brand (Castrol Valvoline, Pennzoil etc) and buying a multigrade oil (your car uses 5w20) then you are using the semi-synthetic blend oil. no need to worry A full synthetic oil such as Mobil 1 or Royal Purple is about $9 per quart. there is no reason to use it on your car. hope that helps

Q: Honda Civic tires wearing out?
Its a 1993 Honda Civic Hatchback DX. I put on new front tires on it on 02-09-2007. I have put only 8K miles on them but now tires are almost gone from inside.(I can see those metal wires coming out from right side tire). It also had allignment done at that time . (Tires are Futura GLS, its written on bill that PRORATED FOR 50,000 MILES). What it mean?? Everything was done at PEP BOYS . At this time can i complaint them about this or not??

A: Sounds like an alignment problem to me. Have them check that when they replace the tires. The prorate means that they take the cost of the tire and divide that by the amount of miles they're rated for. This gives them the cost of the tire per mile. You'll have to pay for 8000 miles.

Q: Can I get a lower price on the new honda civics?
I plan to go car shopping soon at a dealership. I would like to buy from a private seller but the cars I've checked on craigslist, edmunds, etc is either a semi new car mileage thats high for its year or the price is more than what the car is worth. I'm going to continue to look at private sellers but I figured if I was to go to a car dealership with a loan from the bank (lower interest rate) I mine as well get a car thats going to hold up its resale value in the long run. I've been looking at the honda civics new and used from 2010 to 2007. A 2007 would cost about $14,000 but I'm thinking for $2,000 more I could get a new honda civic dx. A 2010 cost $16,000 and I wanted to know what are the chances of talking a salesman down $3,000 on a brand new car? Is it really true that you get a lower interest rate for a loan at a credit union as opposed to a reg. commercial bank? 10 pts to the best answer

A: I want them points so here we go, Get you negotiation technique down before you go into the showroom. 1.Don't be afraid to appear rude to a salesman by insisting on what you want. 2.Be prepared to walk out as soon as you think hes not hearing you. 3.Negotiate from the "invoice" (what the dealer pays for it) price up not from the sticker price down. 7-10% over invoice is fair. 4.Ask about "hold-backs" that's what the factory gives the dealer as a built in profit. He wont tell you but it lets him know you're no sucker. 5.Beware the "4 squares.". The dealer asks whats most important to you Price ? Payment ? Mileage ? Safety ? then he focuses you attention on that aspect down playing the others. 6. "I have to talk to the manager", the manager is the the deal closer. After you've made your best deal, they bring in the relief pitcher to close you out. Tell the salesman you want to negotiate with the manger and thank him for showing you the car. 7.Avoid showing emotional attachment "I love it" is the same as saying "charge me whatever you want.I wont leave without it." You can love it, the dealer doesn't have to know it. 8."what do i have to do to put you in this car today ?" "Sell it to me at cost and keep thehold back, now get me the sales manager so we can see what we can do about this." 9. You get the best deal closer to the end of the month when they have to report total sales. Financing Get your own financing in advance if you can. Some banks and credit Unions want vin #s etc. Get pre approved for a $ amount so you know what you can spend. Remember the dealer is selling 3 things. The Car itself, the extended warranty and the financing. All of which are negotiable. Cash is not King. A customer with good credit leaving is King. Dealers want to finance, They get a kickback from the finance company.
