Q: door spearkers stopped working in honda civic 2006 ex?
so i just got a 2006 honda civic ex sedan and my front door speakers stopped working. i have no warranty or anything but any suggestions would be a plus.. thanks =)

A: Welcome to Honda! my guess is the wiring as said before. No fuse controls the front doors speakers independently. My guess is possible corrosion in the wiring connection. Or, connection from the radio harness. You can check it out if you're handy with cars by buying a door panel remover to remove the hinge clips on the door. Then there are 3-4 screws around the speaker harness. If the wiring harness is corroded, some sandpaper should do it. To verify the wiring, buy a voltimeter and test the connection between the radio harness and the speaker wire. Schematics can be found on the site below as each color corresponds to a specific circuit. Worst case, go to a stereo -security place to have it checked out. I also highly suggest joining honda-acura.net, or hondaclub. many great people with tons of experience.

Q: What are the best ways to modify a 2006 Honda Civic EX Coupe?
I just tinted my windows and bought rims. I also bought a rear spoiler on ebay and need to have it put on. I would like ground effects, fog lights, and add xm-radio to the radio that is xm-ready, but they seem kind of expensive. What is everyone else's idea for best mods and where to get them?

A: i would get a sunroof and stick a christmas tree up the sunroof and light it up so everyone would see me coming. now thats just me. and maybe not one, but three spoilers. one on the hood one on the roof and one on the trunk. oh, btw, spoilers slow you down. unless u are exceeding 130 mph, their aerodynamics dont do anything . the fact is that most spoilers are just for show.

Q: How can I put a front license plate on a 2006 Honda Civic Ex 2 door?
Do I have to drill holes in the bumper? There is a place more toward the bottom of the second grill that looks like a place for screws to go into, but it seems impossible to get your hand plus a tool back there to tighten the bolts. Thanks

A: I'm assuming you don't have the bracket on. Those two holes you see are for the screws which hold the bracket, they are the biggest pain in the world to get on! Start the screw by hand (mine came with hex screws), then try to use a ratchet or screw driver to tighten it up. It does take time to get it on tight and straight, I guess you could always pay Honda to do it if you can't get it on.

Q: Can anyone who has purchased a 2006 honda civic ex tell me exactly what they paid for it?
Only prices for the ex please. If you answer please specifiy 2 door or 4 door. Also let me know if your price includes tax, license, etc. Thanks a lot, trying to get the best deal possible!!!

A: Check kbb.com to get MSRP, invoice price and average price people are actually paying.

Q: How do I calibrate the compass on the 2006 Honda Civic EX?
I have the compass in my rearview mirror but I can't find in the owner's manual how I can calibrate it.

A: You shouldn't have to calibrate it. If it's a new vehicle, it should still be under manufacturer's warranty, and they should be willing to take care of it for free. Also, just my personal view, a compass is almost as redundant as 4wd on public roads. Buy a map! LOL

Q: Can fog lights be installed on my 2006 Honda Civic EX Coupe? If so, where can I get them?
I don't have a body kit, just stock EX. There is a cut out for the fog lights covered with a black piece of plastic.

A: Right they all come with the coverings. You can go to passwordjdm.com and get a pair of fog lights or ebaymotors.com is another cheaper alternative or procarparts.com anything like that. You'd get the same product from all but ebaymotors will just be cheapest. The dealership could possibly have them but they would be very expensive to buy and expensive laborwise but thats just cause it the dealership. Your car already has the pigtail for the fog lights but you can make sure by popping that cover off and checking for a loose hanging electrical connector not plugged to anything. Almost every kit comes with everything you need to make it an easy install. Good like and happy tuning!

Q: I am looking to buy a 2006 Honda Civic EX Coupe with Navigation. How can I locate one?
I have called dealership after dealership and there are not any here in California. I am willing to have one shipped from out of state if there's one available right now or real soon. Can anyone tell me where I could find one or how? If I can't find one with Navigation I am most likely just going to get one without, but would prefer to have Navi. (This is probably not a very smart question, considering I've called quite a few dealerships already, but was worth a shot.) I have already called quite a few outside of California, but was hoping that someone would know where I could find one. I will take a look at the old Lexus with GPS as well. Thanks for all of your answers so far. They're appreciated! I was going to get the Navi installed later, but still wanted to see if there were any out there that already have it. Hey guys! I found my car with navigation AND in California. A lot of dealerships who didn't have the car told me there weren't any here, BUT there are! I'm so excited. Thanks again for all of your answers.

A: If you want to look for one online; I recommend Auto Trader.com

Q: Does the foctory CD player on a 2006 Honda Civic EX play MP3 CDs?
I'm buying on in another city and i want to fly there and do a drive back with the car. it's a 2006 (dunno if the year makes a difference) and i'm going to need a solid amount of music. I want to burn a MP3 cd for the drive but i don't know if the car will play it? Any one know?

A: Yeah, I have a 06 civic and the factory radio does play mp3 files so start burning.

Q: What type of tires should I buy for Honda Civic EX 2006 ?
I am looking to buy new tires for my Honda Civic EX 2006, went to Firestone and they recomended Bridgestone Potenza G019 Grid BL with Uni-T ($127.00 per tire). I did not see good reviews on these tires as I was reading through some postings on the web........Is it a good set of tires to buy and if not what other make/brand should I buy. Thanks Jim

A: You should buy one from BridgeStone. there realy good. I like it.

Q: Cost of replacing the clutch on a 2006 Honda Civic Ex?
With parts and labor Well it's not blown yet but I'm learning how to drive a stick for the first time and I was just curious. Also wanted to know how much it would cost me if u did blow it.

A: £300

Q: What rims should I put on a Black 2006 Honda Civic EX?
Trying to decided what rims to put on it. Im not going to do chrome, but anything else is open. Black on Black, Hypersilver, or a combo. Let me know what rims you think I should do. If you have a link or a pic it would be great but any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.!!

A: Here is the first link: Go down to the 7th picture straight away. This is actually a pretty sharp rim and i like it on the civic of course it is a matter of taste. To me this looks sturdy and not cheap like alot of these newer rims you will buy out there that are pricey. I had a type like this on a mazda i had and i got a ton of compliments on them. This was at a Paris Auto show. http://www.autobloggreen.com/2006/09/29/paris-motor-show-honda-civic-hybrid-sports-concept-car-tucked-a/ This one was actually customized and autographed by the black eyed peas. You should be able to click on the picture for a close up. http://www.oldcartrader.com/ocdetail114198.htm Now this one?? check out the rims! They are kinda hard to see because the car is just freaking psychotic and you cannot really get a close up but they are pretty damn schweeeeet! http://www.dailybuzzer.com/best-overall-carjob-every I did find some black type rims if that is what your looking for... Looks like you can zoom in on these too. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2180103 Hope you can make it out to Hot August Nights this Summer!

Q: i have a 2006 honda civic ex sedan and am going to replace the speakers do i need a 4 channel amp?
i want to keep the stock deck but replace everything else. i already have the amp for my sub woofer but i need to power the rest of the speakers because i'm sure the stock system can't handle it. do i need 4 channel or 2 channel?

A: how ever many speakers you have is basically how many channels you need 1channel=1speaker

Q: Need your advice: reconditioned 2006 honda civic ex coupe for $8,395?
Okay, so i was looking around online for cars and i came across this, and it seems like a great deal, it has a "bumper to bumper warranty", its passed all its inspections, and its backed up by the dealership 100%. So i know that it has a reconditioned title, but depending on what the damage was, do you think it is a good deal, and do you think the dealer is being honest. A: These used to be called "salvage" titles, not reconditioned. I personally wouldn't buy a salvaged car. Despite the inspection it could be unsafe in an accident by breaking at a repair weld, could have electrical problems due to flood damage, could wear tires unevenly, and would be worth much less in a future sale. If you're still considering buying you should ask to see photos of the original damage and take it to an independent body shop to see the repairs on a lift. Verify that there are actually airbags still in the car.

Q: What is the biggest size rim I can put on the 2006 Honda Civic EX.?
But I don't want to sacrifice the entire ride quality. It already has 16's can put like 18's on them or can i go any bigger?

A: you can go as big as you want the higher you go the lower the rubber! If you wanna see what the car will look like go to cardomain.com your welcome

Q: 2006 Honda Civic EX. Every time I start my engine and right when I drive off, the car makes a poping noise.?
I took it to a local Honda repair dealer and they said that it was normal. Something to do with my Honda's ABS locks or something. Can someone help me? Is it true that this noise is normal or are they lying to me? The groaning noise you're indicating occurs right when the engine is turned on right? I think the noise I'm trying to detail is different and this is why I think my local Honda dealer might have diagnosed this incorrectly. The noise I hear occurs when I start to drive off. The noise is similar to an axle issue. The car "clucks" once right when I drive off. The groaning noise you're indicating occurs right when the engine is turned on right? A: the ABS test on the Honda runs once after each start up and does so within 15 seconds of driving forward. the test only runs once each ignition cycle and it makes a groaning or buzzing noise, so if you hear it one time and not again until the car is shut off and driven again, it should be the ABS test, although I've never heard the abs test noise described as a "pop"; its usually described as a groan or a buzz. their was also a common 'clunk' noise from the brakes when reversing directions when the car was moved after sitting parked for a while. that noise was common on the larger vehicles like the Odyssey and the CRV. I've not heard that complaint on the Civic after 2003. The dealer can use the Honda HDS tester to confirm the ABS self test is being run. My recommendation to you is that if you doubt that the noise is ABS related then arrange to leave the car overnight at the Honda dealer then meet with them in the morning, have the technician hook up the Honda tester to the car and then start the car and show them the noise while the tester is monitoring the ABS system. If the noise occurs when the ABS is running its self-test, you have your proof that the noise is normal. If it is not confirmed by then tester, that is, if the noise occurs independently of the ABS test, then the dealer should have the experience to go further in investigating the cause of your noise. I don't think the dealer is 'lying' to you; they are probably giving you their honest opinion but they may be viewing your concern in light of their experience base and they may be limited in that respect. I recommend you work with the dealer to identify the cause so that you are both satisfied with the outcome of the testing hope that helps
