But i checked the honda website and the dx is the base model and is 14k but what i dont know is that if it has a radio and air conditioning because no where in the standard items did it list any of that. What do you think about these cars? Please tell me everthing you know about the DX model

A: I when to the website and it does not have any info on what type of radio it has or air conditioning but all new cars have radios and air conditioning but the info on the 2006 honda civic dx 140-hp, 1.8-Liter, 16-Valve SOHC i-VTEC® Engine 5-Speed Manual (City/Highway) 30/38 5-Speed Automatic (City/Highway) 30/40 Crankcase (qt.) 4.7 Coolant System (qt., MT/AT) 6.8 / 7.5 Fuel (gal.) 13.2 Required Fuel Regular Unleaded overall the car is a good car and if you want to make it in to a racing rocket then even better Good Luck

Q: 2006 Honda Civic DX Coupe (automatic)?
I am looking for a new car. I am wondering abou the Civic. I looked for reviews on-line but they where not that helpful. I was wondering for those who own this car (more than 3mth) can tell me how is the car? What are the pros and cons? I hear that it won't start sometimes, I wonder what you do in that situation?

A: Well ive had my car for almost a year already and its great!!.. I luv it and ive never had any problems with it. Hondas are great cars. From my experience with this car I would recommend any Honda model especially if you are a first time buyer!! Even my boyfriend has a Hond Civic..its just an overall good car..No joke!! Pros: gas saver, Car will last for yrs. Cons: I really cant think of any. *And if you're car doesnt start then thats not normal...cars always have a little switch inside the trunk that will turn the car on...maybe that can help. Good Luck!!

Which model is better from an economical standpoint?

A: the dx is basic-lx has a little more standard equipment but no sunroof wheres the ex is the most deluxe. go to the honda website for more info

Q: Is a 2006 Honda Civic a goood first car?
I am almost 16 and there is a white 2006 Honda Civic Coupe DX with 104,000 miles on it. It has air conditioning and a stereo and stuff (which isn't standard on the DX, weird right?) and it looks like a really pretty car and I love the way it drives, but do you think this would be a good first car or no way should I get something better? My other options an 2003 Audi A4, 2005 Volvo S40, etc. Thanks a bunch! -ZC

A: You don't say how many miles on the A4, S40 so its hard to tell. For the Honda, that's a lot of miles in a short period of time. But my 91 Honda Accord (son now has it) is still going strong at about 275,000. My wife and I have a 2002 CR-V and a 2002 Civic - both with about 85,000. Never had a major mechanical problem with a Honda. Being 16 I would guess you don't have a full-time job or a bucket of money, so the Honda will probably be cheaper to drive (higher gas mileage, and historically fewer repairs) and cheaper car insurance. You might also check on ebay or Edmunds to see if there are any other Civics in your area. Or maybe something else you would like to own.

Q: Honda Civic Sedan (2006-2008) (all trims) was this car ever available in Rallye Red? or any other red color?
Hi i am wondering if the honda Civic sedan (dx, lx, ex) (NOT including Si) sedan was ever available in any kind of red color from the years 2006-2008? i'm actually kind of wondering if the color Rallye Red was available? (also i would like to know where you got this info from?) (so i'll know in the future) i know in 2009 they introduced Tango red pearl.... any help is appreciated

A: JDM Hero is right, the rallye red was an option for the coupes, but not the non-Si sedans. I guess Honda thinks people don't like red sedans? You might be able to find a custom painted sedan in Rallye red, but chances are slim.

Q: What exhaust is quite but has the performance for a 2006 Civic LX?
I've been a racer for 17 years but have been hibernating for a bit. I have a 2006 Honda Civic LX that I want to put an exhaust on. Back in my day Dynomax was the one to choose and I used it on my 13.8 sec DX. But now I don't want the loud noise, I want an exhaust that is quite but has the performance also. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

A: An exhaust isn't going to get you any measurable performance without the mods that go with it. I mean, sure you could slap an intake and exhaust on the car and it would get you a little bit of extra power on the dyno, but there's no way you'd be able to tell the difference. To get real power you have to do all of the associated mods. The stock intake manifold was designed to flow as much air/fuel as the stock intake would allow. You have to have it ported and polished to match the extra air. You'll also need a cam to change the duration of the cam and allow that extra air/fuel enough time to get past the valves. When considering an exhaust you need the full system - from the headers all the way back. More air in is no good unless you can get all of it back out easily. Now that you've created more air you'll need more fuel. A high volume fuel pump and aftermarket rails/injectors are good. The final thing is to have your computer tuned. Your car was designed to run on a whole lot less than what it would be getting by now, so you have to tell it what it has to work with so that it can use it efficiently. I know that's more than you asked for, but you said you were interested in performance and a Honda Civic needs at least the above mods to be competent with the rest of the pack.

Q: Can I afford a 2006 Honda Civic?
I have 3700 saved up. I make just over 700 a month. The 2007 models just came out. The DX model is 14500 plus tax. The LX which is the one i want goes for 16500. Can i afford either of them? Does honda offer 0% financing? I have no other reponsiblities to pay for except for warrenties and insurance. My parents give me gas money.

A: I dont think Honda offers 0% financing and even if they did, you would probably need a good FICO score (like 640 or better) to qualify. You should continue saving up money and get a used Civic. A used Civic is much cheaper and equally as reliable.

Q: How can I find out what kind of Honda Civic Sedan I bought?
I recently bought a 2006 Honda Civic Sedan from a salvage lot, but I am not sure what type of sedan it is for example is it a DX, LX, EX, or GX. How could I find out? And whats the difference between the type of models? (Some of the features that came with it was a navigation system, sunroof, and XM Radio) Thank You.

A: call the dealer with the vin, or just type the vin into carfax , com, and it might just tell you

Q: Buying a Hybrid car?
Iam planning on buying a new car but then figured that i might as well just buy a used hybrid. I know alot about cars, but the hybrids are something i never looked into, all i know they get great gas milage and will save me money at the pump. I did some research and stumbled upon a 2006 honda civic hybrid with 37,600 miles asking price is $14,300 which is the price of a new honda civic dx ive been looking at. Well my question is, is it worth it? are they reliable?

A: and if you're concerned with the environment, consider what the libs like to call "carbon footprint"...it's huge when manufacturing that wonderful hybrid battery. you'll get very good gas mileage with civic dx and you won't be paying a premium. make sure to send fax quotes with exact specifications to 4 or 5 "fleet managers" of reputable dealers. ask them to quote you price "out the door" (everything included) and know the dealer's invoice cost (what they paid for the car). get it in writing and insist that the car is waiting for you when you walk in (full tank of gas and washed). let them know that you are not interested in an extended service plan. don't fool around with sales people. period. then, look into hypermiling.
