Q: how can i find a stereo code for my honda civic 2005 dx type 2 door?
how can i find a stereo code for my honda civic 2005 dx type 2 door?where can i find the codes without the serial code

A: •the radio is locked in anti-theft mode and requires a code to reactivate it. on a honda when the radio loses power the logic is that the reason it lost power is someone removed the radio (as in a theft). to make the radio inoperative to the theif the radio is locked into an anti-theft mode and can't be actiated unless you have the right code. the code is specific to each radio; there is no universal code. there are a few ways to find the code. 1) look in the paperwork that came with the car. there should be a white credit card with the anti-theft code on it. 2) if that's not to be found, look inside the glove box for a white sticker that would be placed on the walls of the glove box. it may have 5 numbers on it or a string of 9-10 letters and numbers. or two rows with the 5 numbers above the 9-10 letters and numbers. If you find the 5 numbers on the sticker, that is your radio reactivation code and you can enter that to reactivate the radio. 3) if you find the 9-10 letters and numbers sticker, that is the serial number for your radio. if you call a honda dealer and give them the serial number they can get the code for you 4) if you can't find the sticker in the glove box, look behind the ash tray (if there is one in that car) or look under the trunk lid as some dealers put the stickers there instead of in the glove box. 5) if you can't find the stickers, then try to retrieve the radio serial number by following this procedure. with the key in the ignition and turned to the ON position but with the radio OFF, press in and hold in the station preset buttons number 1 & 6 with your right hand. Then, while holding the buttons in, turn the radio on with your left hand. You should see a string of 5 digits starting with the letter "U". it will stay on for about 10 seconds and switch to a second string starting with the letter "L". if you get this, then write them down in that order. The string will repeat 3X. When you have the numbers written UxxxLxxx, call your honda dealer and give them those numbers--they are the serial number for the radio and the honda dealer can get the code from that string. if you can't find the stickers or retrieve the serial number then you'll have to remove the radio to get the serial number off of the back of the radio. The radio codes are individual to the radio and not to the car and there is not other way to do it at that point. hope that helps

Q: Would I hurt My 2005 Honda civic DX's motor if I put catback on car?
I know an air intake shortens the life of a car's motor, but would a catback hurt the engine in the long term as well? It's only got 50,000 miles on it so I dont want to put wear and tear on it already.

A: no cat back wont hurt anything, and an intake can depending on what kind you have. for example if you have a AEM cold air intake(the one that runs into the fenderwell) could hurt ur motor of you dont have a bypass valve on it.. since it runs out of the engine compartment it has the chance to suck up water which will then hydolock your motor trust me i know it happended to me. If you buy a cat back make sure you buy a nice one like greddy or HKS or Tanabe so you dont sound like an autozone special or a helicopter driving down the road.

Q: A 2005 Honda Civic DX: Is it worth tricking out/modding the engine? Advice please!?
I just bought a 2005 4-door Civic DX. If I were to put all the bolt on mods on it (Cold-air intake, catback, header) would it make a difference? Is it worth tricking out? I know that the DX motor is the least powerful of all Civic motors, so I'm weary of trying to make it a fast car. I mean I dont want or expect it to be extremely fast, however if I can add a lfew extra horses of powere to it by modding it with bolt-ons Im willing to do so. I am not going to switch out the motor either so please dont suggest that. Experienced, detailed advice only please :)

A: 4 door civics aren't worth it. If it was 2 door maybe, still a rice burner either way.

Q: Felllaz how 2 remove resonator box on 2005 Honda civic Dx 4.Dr ?? Thank alot for your time in advance....?
resonator box diagram for removing it ? hopefully der " SOMEBODY " out der gladly to help....

A: hey there. I assume you are removing it to fit either an upgraded air intake or at the very minimum k&n air filter! you get a slight power increase and the engine will sound a little louder. i am also assuming you know what your resonator box looks like and can differ it from the air box (air filter housing. the resonator box is a large black box on the front left of your engine bay. You will need a socket (10mm i think) and ratchet and an extension arm. There are 4 or 5 bolts holding it on, a rubber tube that holds it to the intake pipe, and on the underside you’ll find a cable that is attached to the resonator’s mounting bracket via a green clip. to remove the green clip there is a little notch you must press on to release the clip or else you will not be able to pull the resonator box out. there's also a bolt down between the box and the battery and you need to remove this too, which is where you'll need the extension bar. Okay you should have removed all the bolts, unclipped the cable from underneath, wriggled off the rubber tube that connects the resonator chamber to the plastic snorkel (pipe), and separated the resonator chamber from the airbox. With that done, a little more wriggling, twisting, and pulling should have you holding the resonator chamber in your hands leaving nice free space in the engine bay. You can now put in your new intake (DIY AEM CAI Install), or leave it off for that throaty sound. good luck and remember to keep track of every step you do so you can put it back later, and grab a container for all the bits.

Q: DASH LIGHTS DONT WORK but headlights work ok.tryin to help a friend of mine she got a 2005 honda civic dx 4dr.?

A: Please read all of message before starting work .Take out radio and look for burned out wires behind the dash board .. Do the lights work if you disconnect the radio are there any wires that have come apart. If dash lights not working check fuse if fuse no good replace it then check again. If still not working check fuse once more in case you have a short circuit. Maybe someone will contact you to tell you which fuse you need to look at. (try hand book) If you can understand wiring drawing buy second hand Haynes manual from ebay. nigel

Q: 2005 Honda Civic Window Crank?
I accidently broke the window crank off my front passenger door the other day getting the door panel off. I'm having a very difficult time trying to find a replacement 2005 Honda Civic DX window crank. Does anyone have any suggestions or know the part number so I can order one from Honda?

A: I don't recommend you buy it from the Honda Dealership unless you want to spend an arm and a leg. Look on eBay, you can get one for about $15 bucks. http://shop.ebay.com/items/__Honda-Civic-Window-Crank_W0QQ_kwZHondaQQ_kwZCivicQQ_kwZWindowQQ_kwZCrankQQ_ckwZ2005?_trksid=p3286.m104.l1199 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-05-Honda-Civic-Window-Crank-set-Beige-Tan_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ66Q3a4Q7c65Q3a1Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem270353170081QQitemZ270353170081QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-05-Honda-Civic-Window-Crank-Set-Window-Cranks-Tan_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ66Q3a4Q7c65Q3a1Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem390028760601QQitemZ390028760601QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Q: Are Honda Civic DX's good, reliable cars? Ive thinkin about buying a 2005 sedan.?
I'm planning on buying a 2005 DX sedan. It will have 52,000 miles on it. What have been your experiences with the DX's? Reliable? Dependable? I would really like to know how the quality of this vehichle is going to be before I buy it. If you owned or own an 05 DX that's even better because you can give me a real idea of the quality of the car. Also,. would bolt on mods do anything for the car's performance?

A: imhop Honda and Toyota are the most dependable cars. I bought a 96 civic new and it still is going strong with no major repairs. one caveat is how the previous owner treated it. regular oil changes and not beating on it. my experience with mods are fine for cosmetics but if you're looking to make it faster you're better off just getting a car that has bigger stock engine. ie it take a lot of money to make a civic perform like a mustang.

Q: I Cannot remove Honda Civic Air Filter Box, the screws are stripped!?
Does anyone know what I should do? I have tried to remove the screws but for some reason they are very tight and almost stripped. I can't find that same part anywhere online either. I have a 2005 Honda Civic DX and that part is not on ebay or any other site.

A: Usually when screws are stripped, you have to drill them out. Then you would have to tap new holes and get new screws to fit the new holes. I would work harder to find the part.

Q: What is the exact model of my 2005 Honda Civic?
It doesn't have a trim emblem at all on the back and I know it isn't JUST a 2005 Honda Civic, there should be a suffix, right? If so, what is it? Is it a DX, LX, EX, VP, etc?

A: it should say on the cars title or you can carfax the vin number and check what kind of civic you have and the record of your car

Q: Honda Civic DX Owners: Have you had a good experience with your car? Pros/Cons...?
I'm planning on buying a 2005 DX sedan. It will have 52,000 miles on it. What have been your experiences with the DX's? Reliable? Dependable? If you owned or own an 05 DX that's even better because you can give me a real idea of the quality of the car. Also,. would bolt on mods do anything for the car's performance?

A: Are you serious. The Honda Civic is the most reliable compact car in the world. Nothing beats in in reliability. It has great quality and reliabilty like all Honda's. Bolt on mods would boost the performance. Honda Engines are best with modifications.

Q: is it possible to get power locks, mirrors and keyless entry for a car that came without them?
Im in the process of buying a 2005 honda civic dx that has manual locks and mirrors.I was wondering if i could get it changed to power locks and mirrors at a dealership or elsewhere and how much more it would cost me

A: yes, at the dealership it will cost more that the the original option cost on the car. most aftermaket shops sell this kind of stuff, power locks can be integrated into an alarm

Q: my honda civic...i dont know!?
I got me a 2005 honda civic...its not a dx,lx,or si...it just says its a honda civic. I want to purchase parts for it, but I don't know what to associate it with. Does anyone know what model I should associate it with? Thank you ! thank you guys for your answers.. maybe this will help.. i want to purchase a cold air intake, and i was wondering if i should purchase one for the dx? what do you think?

A: The DX, LX, & EX all use the same cold air intake so it doesn't really matter if it says DX, LX, or EX. You can simply tell what kind of Honda Civic you have by the features. DX = No cruise control LX = Power windows/locks, cruise control EX = Power windows/locks, cruise control, & sunroof Si = Only came in the hatchback form for the 2002-2005 years. If you can't tell the difference between the features then look on your title or registration, or you can also search your vin # on carfax.com.
