Q: how can i make my 2004 honda civic lx coupe have more horsepower?
i have a 2004 honda civic lx coupe and i only have 110 hp and i want to know how can i make it alot faster like atleast 210 hp or more
A: Well apparantly everyone here is idiots. The LX is a base model with a horrible engine. The most you are going to get from this motor is about 200 HP tops. The B16 and B18 are good motors, but would require too much retro-fitting into the newer frame, not to mention the wiring nightmare. The first option is to turbocharge the current engine, BUT you can only run 6 PSI of boost on the stock internals of the LX engine without problems, this is only going to get you maybe about 160 HP at the front wheels, since it only puts down about 95 HP from the factory at the wheels. If you wanted more power from it then a complete build would be in order, such as lower compression pistons, forged rods, cam, aftermarket fuel manangement for upgraded boost, ETC,ETC... this would put you in the $10,000 range. Now the second option is to buy a K20 and do a motor swap. Not only will it save you money, but it will be faster and stronger than the LX engine. They put down right at 200 HP at the front wheels, and are pretty straight-forward in this car. Plus as an added bonus the potential for more power is there being as everything is still stock. The LX engine would be maxed out power wise, and still make less HP than the K20 and cost more doing so than just doing the engine swap.
Q: How much should I expect to get for my 2004 honda civic lx?
Just trying to get an idea on what i should expect to get--
only 42000 miles
perfect condition running wise
body good conditon with one small dent on rear bumper (which i may or may not have fixed)
A: 2$
Q: How can I remove the factory stereo from 2004 Honda Civic LX Coupe? Where can I find the instructions?
A: dude my mind is telling me that you don't have any experience on who to work with speaker installation. so I know your trying to save money but trust me, its better have a professional installer install whatever your trying to install but if you are trying to do it your sell, I will say check with your local Honda Dealer, eBay.com or Amazon.com for installation paper. good luck.
Q: i live in upstate NY and i need new tires for my 2004 honda civic lx. should i buy snow tires or all weather?
it was suggested that i use snow tires for the winter season and reuse my old tires that still can last another year for the summer season.
A: I would buy two new Michelin tires with agressive all weather tread and put them on the front of the car. Sams price club or Costco is the best place to buy them. Bridgestone is also a good tire. I grew up in the Syracuse area that gets the lake effect snowfalls, so I've had some experience with cars and snow. But don't forget that wet roads will probably be your most common dangerous driving condition, not snow laden roads. Hydroplaning (water trapped in the tire treads) is a problem that good tires can help remedy.
Q: what do i need to do to my 2004 honda civic lx sport to street race and be fast?
how do i find street racers if i dont no any?
A: If you don't know any racers then you'll need to go to the track and meet them. you're not going to find them out on the street until you know them.
I race both at my local track and on the street. I enjoy the track more (more bragging rights lol) but the wait times, fees, and EXTREMELY limited nights where we can go race force us to take it out to the street.
Never race during the day, and NEVER race in a populated highway or street. Other than that you're golden. Anyone that tries to lecture you on street racing when you're endangering no one but yourself is just a cunt. Let them worry about themselves.
So step one is go to the track, meet people and learn as much as you possibly can. Don't advertise that you're looking to street race, there a lot of self-righteous dickheads at the track. The ones who do street race will let you know.
Step two is to get your car up to speed. I don't know specifically what you can do for your Honda, I drive a M3, but start with a cold air intake, bolt ons, and upgrade the suspension. Whatever is on your price range, but you do get what you pay for.
Step three is to MAKE SURE YOU'RE DRIVING SKILLS ARE GOOD. All accidents during races are caused by people either not knowing wtf they are doing, or trying to push themselves or their car too hard. Pour in hours, hours, and hours into driving your car. Learning how the weight shifts, how it handles curves at what speed, how long it takes to get to a certain speed, everything.
I have a friend who races touge (scares the hell out of me) and he is such a good driver his car is just an extension of his body.
All in all, be safe first, but have fun. i'm not going to tell you not to street race, but I am going to tell you not to put others in danger.
Q: How much do you think it will cost w/ lbr & pnt to replace a 2004 Honda Civic LX front bumper and right fender
A: 500+.,
Q: How much car oil is necessary for Honda Civic 2004 LX?
Preferrably if yu have a citation it would be great.
A: should be in your owners maual but having myself having 2 hondas its probably around a gallon (4quarts) or 5 quarts thats if you are changing it. after changing i would add about 3/4 of a gllaon or 3 quarts and then wait a little bit for the oil to sink down to the oil pan and check the oil, if no mark add almost another quart and repeat the steps
Q: Headlights not working on 2004 Honda Civic LX?
I have checked all fuses, tapped the relays, and checked the bulbs. Everything looks fine. I have read online that the actual switch may be out on the steering column. Could this be the answer?
A: You are talking about electrical and that's going to be a little hard. U have there light switch , multiplex control unit , bulbs , relays , ground and many connectors. If u are really sure that the light bulbs are good check the relays and fuses. Honda had a problem with that switch but it did not apply to every civic out there. Check with your vin # online or go to a Honda dealer and see if your civic is one of them. Anyway back to the switch, if u remove the steering column cover and u see the switch connector and on the top u see a red /white wire that looks like melted that's the problem you need a new wire , connector and the switch. If not, look at the bulb connector and check for power and ground , see which one you are missing. Power comes from the fuses and the relays, ground from the switch to the multiplex unit to the head lights. Good luck , Hope it helps.
Q: What does a 60,000 mile service include on a car (honda civic 2004 lx) and what is the average cost?
I really just want to have everything done so I won't have to worry about it anymore cos from 45,000 going to 60,000 miles I just had some oil change services and a brake pad change. I didn't really wanna bother cos I wanted to wait until it got to 60,000 miles. and also my tires need to be replaced also. I was wondering if i could change the tires later after the service.
A: for the honda civic the 60,000 service includes the oil and filter change, tire rotation, brake inspection, air conditioning filter change, engine air filter change, transmission fluid change (do not flush the transmission! just change the fluid) and the regular inspections of the steering, suspension, undercarriage and topping off the fluids.
most honda dealers charge in the neighborhood of $250-$300 for the service. you don't need to do anything with the engine coolant, spark plugs, timing belt or valve adjustment on that car until 110,000 miles.
There really isn't anything more to do.
Hope that helps
Q: How do you set the clock in a 2004 Honda Civic LX?
A: there is a rectangular button on the right side of the radio above the #6 radio station preset button. under the rectangular button in black raised letters it should say "clock". turn the ignition ON but leave the radio OFF. then push the "clock" button and hold it in until you hear a "beep". when it beeps the clock should start blinking. you then use the "4" button to set the hours and "5" to set the minutes. when the time is set, press the Clock button again and hold it until it beeps. the clock should stop blinking and the time should be set.
hope that helps
Q: 2004 Honda Civic LX keyless entry quit working.?
I have a 2004 Honda Civic LX coupe DOHC 16 valve 1.6L with a stock alarm and remote keyless entry. The problem is, when I use the lock button on the keyless entry, it doesn't work. It quit working about 2 months after I purchased the car (used, with 42000 on it) I have reprogrammed the remote and the alarm will still go on but the keyless entry will not lock or unlock the doors - I have to shut off the alarm and manually use the key to gain entry. I'm not sure if this is a common problem on the stock setup or if it's just a fuse, or what. Is there a particular fuse I should look for on the fuse box to see if that could be the problem?
both lock and unlock do not function at all
lock does work when i hit the button twice to activate the alarm
A: The exact same thing happened to me!
I had to take it back to my local dealer (the same one I bought the car from).
They fixed it for free, this was a couple years ago though. EIther way you should be able to call ahead, and they will fix it in 10 minutes when you get there.
Q: how much would it cost if you repair a rear bumper for a 2004 honda civic lx?
A: Depending on the body shop you go to and the quality of work done there the price is going to differ some and some other factors will increase the bill as well, for example if you have custom paint on your civic vs stock colors. A replacement bumper is in the neighborhood of $160.00 and labor rates can vary from state to sate but are usually somewhere around $30.00 and $60.00 an hour and shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to fix from paint to installation. Good luck.
Q: Can i order a 2004 honda civic white trunk lid online?
Mine was hit and just the trunk lid has to be replaced. I don't want to order it from the dealer because i would like it already painted. The car is a white 2004 honda civic LX 4 door. Thank you
A: well, the only way to get the trunk lid painted the same color would be to source it from a junked car or log into www.hondacivicforum.com or www.civicforums.com and go to their buy/selling section to see if someone is getting rid of their stock trunk lid.
otherwise, no matter where you go online to buy the lid or the dealer, it will still need to be painted.
Q: How much will it cost to replace brakes on a Honda Civic LX 2004 ?
A: Depends on who does the work and how many parts are replaced. Just front brake pads and re-surface rotors will probably be $120-150. but if the rotors are too thin you can add at least $100. Rear brakes should be less, but you need to have the brakes inspected by a reliable shop. If you have the time get more than one estimate.
If you've never replaced brakes before it makes sense to let a professional do it.
