Q: Do you put regular unleaded gas in your 2003 Honda Civic Si?
Both my manual and Honda's own website say regular unleaded gas required in 2003 Civic Si. However, the car dealer and others have told me to use premium for the VTech engine. Who do I listen to? I was hoping to find someone who can say "Yes, I have used regular unleaded and it is fine."

A: Yes, Super is only for High Compression vehicles and that usually includes high performance cars. The Myth people have is that super is cleaner/better for your car, but they all have the same detergents in them, just burn at different pressures for optimum efficiency

What color does the dash guages glow at night in the 03 Civic Si?? I'm buying one in a couple hours but I've never seen the color of the gauges at night, wondering if anyone had one and what they look like. I can't find any pics lol :P

A: Orange

Q: How good are the 2003 Honda Civic si's?
I'm thinking of getting a si Civic for around $11,000 and has around 60k miles on it. Are these cars any good? I like where the shifter is located and the looks of the car. So I'm just wondering are these good cars and any problems i should know aout with this model? Thanks! Ok Adam B and anyone else with that kind of answer, 1) I haven't seen a new one at a dealership for under $21000 and 2) I just can't afford a more expensive car! So please stick to the question.

A: one word to civic 2003... AMAZING..... you'll not disapointed when you buy these car..

Q: How good is the 2003 Honda Civic Si?
I want to get a used one and I have one in mind. It costs $10000 or $11000 and has about 50000 miles on it and its an 03 hatchback. I test drove it and it drove well, to me, but there was a slight problem w/the power steering, turning to the left required effort. I think thefluid just needs to be changed. There is a big dent in the passenger side door that they said they would fix for about $300. This is at a Crystler dealership. You think this is a good deal? I know for a fact that they will lower the $$. I would also like to hear about any oppinions/experiences with these cars(03 civic si)? How can i do a carfax report?

A: The reason Honda's are way over price is because unlike US auto makers they maintain there re-sale value. Ask for a Car Fax they should provide it for free unless they have something to hide(usually dealer have accounts at Car Fax that they are able to check the cars history). Does the car feel abuse and look like it. How is the clutch? The big dent might cost more then $300 upwards to a $1000 to fix. Now according to the black book(this is the car market price unlike blue book that over price cars) 2003 Si Extra clean $11750 Clean $11,100 AVG $10,000 Rough $8,400 So you can get a better idea if you want if I wouldn't pay more then 10,000 with taxes and plates. Now performance: Si are always the highest in the Civic, CRX, Del Sol lines. Always come with the best motors and suspension all the options etc. This style hatch back aren't really like but the Honda guys and gals like the 99-00 Civic Si. But they hold there own. The resale value is good on this car new they where $16000. Speed isn't so good I race 2004SI Intake headers exhaust and I had a stock CDM CX(DX motor and tranny stock from CD) and I only lost by 1 car length which made the guy get scared and sold his car.

Q: 2003 Honda Civic SI: Temperature gauge climbs to High and blows cold air.Does not happen all the time, why?
This occurs once in a while and the car car be both in motion and sitting idle. It happens when the car is first started but also after it has been running for a length of time, what might the problem be?

A: The radiator is low on water/antifreeze make sure its full and top off the reservoir (white plastic bottle with green liquid inside, black plastic cap labeled "Antifreeze Only" ) NOTE: on some cars the radiator cap and reservoir cap are the same cap.the one on the reservoir . if it is full , then you should replace the thermostat. NEVER EVER OPEN RADIATOR CAP WHEN MOTOR IS HOT!!!!

Q: Is the 2003-2004 Honda Civic SI Hatchback worth the money?
Is the 2003-04 civic si hatchback a good car to buy? Like how much MPG does it get and is the seating comfortable?

A: yes it is worth if you can find a good one. Civic are known for getting good mpg. I rode on one, and i liked the interior. Now its all different to people about interior space. Some may like lots of room while others might not care at all. so it all matters to you, what you think is good.

i want to change my ball joint on my 2003 honda civic si but i want to know the steps to change it. please help is the lower ball joint help is it hard to change it???

Q: honda civic si 2003 swap?
i have a 2003 honda civic si and it has an k20a3 and my question is if i could swap the block for an k20z3 or what should i need to do it help?

A: Civic Si. Wanting to do something besides forced induction, he decided to swap in the powerful K20A2 from an RSX-S. He called on Car Version 2 for the project. Swapping out the Honda K20A3 engine for a K20A2 is a bold way of adding more power. The engine from an Acura RSX Type S has the same K20 designation as the newer Civic SI but they are not the same engine at all. On the exterior they pretty much look identical. Even many of the sensors and accessories are identical and can be crossed over. To assume that you can just bolt on a few performance mods to a K20A3 Civic engine and expect get the same performance as an RSX would be a very unwise assumption.

Q: how much can I get for a 2003 civic si hatchback?
Im thinking of selling my car. Its a 2003 honda civic si hatchback. 84xxx miles, cold air take, 16" rota slip streams, skunk2 adjustable coil overs, megan rear cambers, megan rear up and lower strut bars. No dents, clean title, paint also in good condition.

A: Go to: nada.com This will give you a good estimate of the retail, trade-in, and private sale values of your car. I am not sure what the aftermarket parts will add, or what you expect to get back form them, but getting the base price should be a good starting point.

Q: 2003 honda civic si shaking problem?
i have a 2003 honda civic si and i've been having some trouble, it starts shaking after pushing the gas when its on neutral please help? what should i change??

A: You may have one or more dead spark plugs. Remove and check them. If they are not firing they will be black and wet. It is not likely to be motor mounts as the engine is very well balanced internally and if you are getting a misfire it can cause this shaking. You may need to change the plugs. Engine oil good? Coolant good? Air filter good? No issues with fuel?

Q: What belt do I order for 2003 Civic SI.?
So we are planning on bypassing the AC Compressor Clutch all together and want to get a shorter belt. I have a 2003 Honda Civic SI 2.0 L Blue hatchback. Has anyone done this before? And what size belt did you order (Product Number, Brand or Supply Store) ?

A: You use a 7 rib 65.3 inch long belt, goodyear p/n 4070653 as original length with a/c. Unfortunately, there are very few 7 rib belts available, the old fashion belts were made in half and full inch increments. Most manufacturers use the part number to indicate the length of the belt (as I mention above), so if you can determine how much shorter belt you need, the p/n is easy to determine..example; 5 inches shorter will be a 4070600 or 4070603 (if you want to be exact). That size may not be available since the serpentine belt sizes are very limited. Go to an independent parts store and they can help you..The pimple faced kids at autozone haven't figured out how the belt numbering system works..(sorry, but true). Upon removing the a/c, I think you still need to wrap the belt around something, as most components in the drive system will turn the belt in one direction or the other (drives from the rib side or the flat side). My parts book did not ask for the option of "no a/c", so I think that car wasn't ever built that way. Check with the dealer anyway. Another option is to get a 7 rib pulley and build a bracket that would take the place of the a/c. Goodyear makes a 7 rib pulley, p/n 49004, of which the center hole is a common metric size that is used on just about every car that uses serpentine belts.. the bearing's inside hole can be determined at any bearing store, I don't have the info handy, but the bearing p/n is 203 (an industry standard..it is also a common bearing used on early GM alternators). You can find a metric bolt (with a shoulder) that would fit the center at any junkyard. Your other option, if the compressor bearings are ok and it isn't locked up..is to leave the compressor on and disconnect the wiring so it never kicks in..it will serve as the correct "idler pulley", already properly mounted.

Q: 2003 honda civic si question?
i have a 2003 honda civic si and i recently changed my spark plugs and i felt the difference on the car but after a few weeks i start feeling the car slower, when i changed gear it goes slower than before and when i turn off the car and start it back on , it feels different like if it wasn't any problem help would they be the spark plugs?? or what would it be??

A: gap on the plugs or wires or could be a coil because those civics didnt have distributors they have a cop ignition which is a ignition coil for every cylinder and i agree with ngk iridium plugs a little more expensive but worth it for the quality

Q: 2003 honda civic si hatchback?
i have a 2003 honda civic si and i've been hearing a sound when i turn my steering wheel but that sound only comes out fo like a second and then goes away and i was wondering what it is but i as thinking if it is because i haven't done the Alignment or because it needs new shocks please help

A: If its a clicking sound it's most likely your axle boot or your CV joint. Have them replaced if you don't wanna do it yourself for 80 bucks, before you have to replace more expensive parts or the entire drive shaft itself.

Q: Misfire on all 4 Cylinders. 2003 Honda Civic Si.?
I got a 03 honda civic si. And it has been running really crap like. So i parked it. Got out an OBD2 kit. And i was given these codes. Cylinder 1,2,3,4 Misfire P0301 P0302 P0303 P0304. Random Misfire P0300. Please help me. Thanks

A: When you have a multiple cylinder misfire you have to look to something that will affect all 4 cylinders and not just one. spark plugs are not the answer nor are the individual cylinder coils. If the car has a distributor with a single ignition coil that could be the cause; the 2003 SI was the European design and very low production in the US so I'm not sure if you have the single coil with distributor or if you have separate coils for each cylinder. If you have a distributor then look at the cap and rotor as possible causes in addition to the coil. if you don't have a distributor you can pretty much eliminate the individual coils and spark plugs. you need to look for items that will affect all cylinders. most likely something like a disconnected vacuum leak that is causing a lean misfire in all cylinders. A hung EGR valve would also cause the lean misfire for all cylinders. Contaminated fuel can also cause these types of multiple cylinder misfire codes. I have seen this happen when people inadvertently put diesel fuel in a gasoline engine car. Watered down fuel can also cause it. Additional items could be a leaking intake gasket, leaking head gasket or grossly mis-adjusted valves. High or low fuel pressure can cause it but usually with fuel pressure you'll get oxygen sensor codes as well. These are less likely than a vacuum leak, a bad coil, cracked distributor cap or bad fuel. Again, cap and coil are only suspect if the car has a distributor I don't know the mileage on the car. Honda engines aren't likely to "jump time" with the timing belts but it could happen. It's a very long long shot. hope that helps hope that helps
