Q: Honda civic 2002 ex sedan 75000 miles service?
I would like to know what kind of service that i need to get done to my 2002 honda civic ex sedan. diffrent providers are giving me diffrent answers. even the honda dealers are not consistant in their estimation.

A: Check your owner's manual and don't listen to anyone else. They just want your money. There is no service recommended at 75,000 miles but there is one at 70,000 miles and at 80,000 miles etc. Check your owner's manual on page 200. Basically change the oil every 10,000 miles and inspect and adjust certain items every 20,000 miles.Replace the air filter every 30,000 miles. Replace spark plugs and timing belt every 110,000 miles. Replace the coolant at 120,000 miles or 10 years and then every 60,000 miles or 5 years after that. Replace transmission fluid at 120,000 miles or 6 years and then every 90,000 miles or 5 years after the first change. Replace brake fluid every 3 years regardless of mileage. Replace dust and pollen filter every 120,000 miles. You only need to do these things more often IF your driving meets the severe use definition. Follow the Maintenance Schedule for Severe Conditions if you drive your car MAINLY under one or more of the following conditions: Driving less than 5 miles (8 km) per trip or, in freezing temperatures, driving less than 10 miles (16 km) per trip. Driving in extremely hot [over 90°F (32°C)] conditions. Extensive idling or long periods of stop-and-go driving. Driving with a roof rack, or driving in mountainous conditions. Driving on muddy, dusty, or deiced roads. IF your driving is severe use driving then you would change your oil twice as often and your transmission fluid at 60,000 miles the first time and then every 30,000 miles See page 202 of the owner's manual. I change the oil in our 2002 CR-V every 10,000 miles and I know that that is OK because I have had the oil analyzed when I change it. Use only Honda transmission fluid and only the recommended motor oil grade 5W20. https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/pubs/om/CV0202/CV0202SRVINFA.pdf

Q: What would you pay for buying a 2002 Honda Civic EX 4-door sedan?
What would you pay for buying a 2002 Honda Civic EX 4-door sedan, 67,000 miles, single owner, well-maintained, one scratch on side of passenger door, Automatic transmission, FWD, power steering/windows/locks, keyless entry, CD player, cruise control, ABS, sun roof, front and side airbags, alarm system, snow tires with alloy wheels from a private buyer? Or where would you start the negotiating price? The seller is asking $10,000 for the vechile.

A: well if you look on the kelly blue book site, the prices would go as follows: Excellent $10,870 Good $10,155 Fair $9,220 So take a look at the condition of it and see what it falls under. Im assuming from what you say it probably falls into either excellent or at least good. I would say start at $8500 at go up. I wouldn't go over the kelly blue book price though. Get a carfax report if you can too, make sure its got non accidents or anything reported.

Q: How do you program a keyless remote for a 2002 Honda Civic Ex?
we recently got a used 2002 Honda Civic, but it did not come with any keyless entry remotes. we are planning on buying one or two remotes off of ebay, but we are unsure of how to program them and also where the FCC ID is located on the car. we checked on the frame of the driver-side door where there is a manufacturers label and a car information label, but could not find it. does anybody know how to program a 2002 Honda Civic keyless entry remote? or where to find the FCC ID on the car?

A: knowshon is right. If the vehicle had the key less entry system at one time it will work, but if the system was never there or if someone removed it , it will not work. If the contorl unit is there u just have to follow that procedure and it will work. Good luck!

Q: Honda Civic 2002 EX: How can I reset the SRS light, and radio is which is locked?
Honda Civic 2002 EX My battery died yesterday, but I was able to recharge it. Now the problem is that I have the SRS light in the dashboard on, and the radio which is locked. How do I fix those 2 issues?

A: The SRS light could possibly be reset by disconnecting the battery negative cable for 5 minutes but this indicates some fault in the system which will require an analyzer to determine the cause. It will most likely come back on, indicating that the SRS system is inoperative. It may take an analyzer to reset the light even if there is no fault in the system. If you don't have the code to unlock the radio (see owner's manual) you will have to go to a dealer and have them unlock it. This is a theft prevention device so that it renders the radio inoperative if it is removed from the vehicle or in your case, has lost battery power. Also, you should check the alternator and the battery - one or both of these could be bad and continue to cause problems - possibly damaging sensitive electrical components.

Q: What do you think about a 2002 honda civic ex?
http://charleston.craigslist.org/ctd/1295756215.html im gettting my first car soon and i want to get this car i cant pay $8885 for the car the highest price i can go to is $6,000 including tax and everything do you think i can get the civic for around that price or maybe lower?

A: you could probably find one with closer to 100,000 miles for about 5-7 thousand, depending on the condition and the trim of the car. Be careful with the 2001-2005 civics- they were known for costly transmission issues

Q: Honda civic 2002 coup ex rear wheel make squeeze sound when i apply brake in park gear?
I have a honda civic 2002 ex auto with 83,000miles. The rear wheel make squeeze sound when I applied brake in park gear(not in motion). What could be the problem? Do i need to replace the brake pad for the rear wheel? thanks, andy

A: Try changing your transmission fluid, that usually would fix up everything, I had that problem in my 98 Civic and that fixed it up

Q: I have a 2002 honda civic ex and I need to replace a spark plug/wire. Any hints on where I should go and cost?
I had autozone run a scan. how soon should i get it replaced?

A: A question first: how do you know you have one bad plug/wire? Is there a miss in the engine or did one break? It's false economy to replace only ONE plug or wire....just do them all and do it right. About the cost: I just bought a 4 wire set for my Suzuki Sidekick......$29.99 at AutoZone....and Wal-Mart will likely have the plugs you need at (I'm guessing) $3.00 each. Be sure you have the tools to do this before you start the job....and ask your close friends (or Yahoo Answers) for tips.

Q: I have a 2002 Honda Civic EX with 165k miles.I have oil in the coolant reservoir?
The car runs great. I used dye to check if exhaust is inside radiator due to cracked head or gasket. No exhaust found. Don't seem to loose radiator fluid. Losing oil, but no drips,no water in oil and don't see anything like water or milk under oil cap. If there is a bad head gasket would the car run poorly? What could be the problem with the transmiision cooler loop?

A: If its an automatic transmission there's a possibility that the cooler may be leaking through the radiator (that would have more of a reddish/ brownish tint though). Another possibility is the motor oil cooler itself. You should do a compression or cylinder leak down test to obtain information regarding possible head gasket seepage. Both of the 2 possibilities are pretty rare on Honda's however, while the head gasket is much more common. Good luck and hope this helps.

Q: What do you do when your EVAP emission control system detects a leak (fuel take system) 2002 Honda Civic EX?
Here is what the code read... 1) loose fuel cap (fixed and bought a new one) 2) Vapor Canister saturated. 3)Failed vent solenoid 4)Failed purge solenoid What do I do?

A: You fixed it when you tightened the new fuel cap until it clicked. That's the number one reason the code is displayed. Have the code erased by a shop - parts houses like Autozone aren't allowed by law to do it. If the code pops up again, check all the vacuum line connections and see if something is cracked, loose, or disconnected. Like as not, clicking the cap was all it needed.

Q: The Radio Code for my 2002 Honda Civic EX Not working?
I have the 5-digit code and the serial number on the small business card, but when I punch it in, it says "Error 1...2.." and so on. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Can anyone help?

A: Error 1...2.. indicates how many times an improper code has been entered. The radio should beep at the end of the 5 digit sequence. You may not have the correct code. To check this, the radio will need to be removed to verify the proper serial number. The Honda parts department may not give you the code over the phone, but they may be willing to tell you if the code you have matches the serial number.

Q: Honda Civic EX 2002 Battery?
my 2002 Honda Civic ex battery suddenly died today. What is the best(and economical) way to fix it ? Buy new battery, buy a jump start cable or recharge the existing battery ? Please advice.

A: Everyone should own a battery charger. So if you agree, then get one and try that first. Chances are that the old battery is sulfated and needs to be replaced but the alternator may be bad as well and may be the reason that the battery went bad. That was the scenario I experienced with our 2002 CR-V.

Q: How do you remove headlights from a 2002 Honda Civic EX coupe?

A: you have to take the front bumper off. theres a few bolts that you can see on the top of the bumper when you pop the hood. theres also a few underneath, you might have to remove the plastic splash guard as well. check in the wheel well as well, im not sure if theres any in there. once you have the bumper off, you will be able to see all the bolts for the headlights. the process shouldnt take very long. but get some wd40 or pb blaster, and spray that on the bolts to loosen them up from any rust, and also helps prevent stripping the heads

Q: need some feedback on 2002 honda civic ex 2 door coupe?
im planning on buying this car with 32,000 miles on it and was just wondering overall how this car is. i no its worth the money b/c its honda but i would like some honest opinions on the car itself. thanks. its an ex with a spoiler and all, most ex's i see online do't have that, but i guess the ex is just the sports version.

A: go to www.carsurvey.org you can find the exact make, model and year of a car you are looking to buy. this is the best site where owners of cars list what went wrong with there cars and if they liked them or not. This is a great website to find out what might go wrong with your car and to find out if your car is a good buy. check it out!

Q: How do you clear the maintenance code on a 2002 Honda Civic EX?

A: when the key is off press and hold the trip/reset button. Turn the key on but don't start the engine. Now here's where it'll vary. It's either gonna flash at you if so let go of the button then press n hold again or the trip/odometer will have a bunch of zeros come across it. Like 00000000 and that would mean the system is reset. If all else fail check your manual It will be in there for sure.
