Q: How do you remove a tie rod from Honda Civic 2001 si from suspension assembly?

A: Vice Grips and oxy torches that will always loosen nuts. the rod-end will have to be replaced once the old one is removed so the rod threads can be cleaned if possible. If its that rusted, it may need to be replaced. The complete tie rod may have to be removed to do this. The inner is a usually a ball joint that's screwed into the end of the rack, and secured with a lock tab and/or split pin.

Q: Can anyone tell me when is a time to change a timing belt on 2001 Honda Civic Si?

A: usually, on any car, the timing belt doesn't reaaly hold after about 70000 miles..

Q: 2001 honda civic si?
can anybody tell me more about this car? basically the Si trim of the 7th generation honda civic coupe. the problem is im searching on the internet for some info on it and there is almost nothing, in fact, some sites don't even acknowledge the existance of said car in the Si trim..whats the deal? basically i'd like to know some pros/cons and experiences people have had....also if a model with about 60000 km and good body condition is worth 12000$ CDN. THanks alot..this is my first car buying experience and want to learn as much as possible before i buy it..again thanks. also need to say this is for the coupe version...most of the stuff i found was for the hatchback only

A: There is no such thing as 7th generation Honda Civic SI in 2001. 6th generation Honda SI was extended to the year 2001. The car was made for two years (1999 - 2001) with 1.6L B16A engine. I drive 1999 Si. Did not find any major problem. I live in Chicago with harsh winter, and just this year I found that some interior plastic trims start to crack. The fuse cover and plastic trims around the CD player cracked due to shrink & expansion of the cold weather. The car is also little bit expensive because many prefer to drive a coupe. Its been holding the value pretty well.

Q: does the 2001 honda civic si-g have a stabalizing strut bar on the front?
looking for any tips specs and performance help with my civic

A: no......... get newer civic

Q: 2002 Honda Civic SI or 2001 Honda Prelude Base?
Both cars have manual transmissions. Civic has 39,800 miles and costs $11,099 (obo). Prelude has 68,500 miles and costs $11,500.

A: One nickle X mileage Write that off original sticker price. And good luck! Their are other things.

Q: 2001 Honda Civic Si?
Does this car come only in manual, or can it be had with an automatic transmission? Does anyone have any information about this car. Things to look out for, or Civic recalls? Any informative websites? Thanks!

A: Civics are pretty good cars, the Si is only in manual because it is made for performance. An automatic Si would be a joke, 0-60 in 13 seconds at best.

Q: Honda Civic SI 1999-2001?
Hi Does anyone know if any of the 1999-2001 Civic SI models come in Automatic transmission? And how much would I be looking at to purchase a used 1999-2001 model on average with 55K-133K miles? Or would i be better off purchasing a EX model(if so what year is best from 93-99?)? Also any basic info about the SI would be appreciated ;) Thanks in Advance!

A: The 99-00 Si are completely different from the 2001 Si. No they never came in w/ an auto. The 99-00 came with a b16 and the 2001 came with the first generation k20. You will pay over $10,000 USD for any of these cars in good condition. If an auto is what you need you will be better off finding an Ex. They all come with D series motors which are extremely reliable and for the majority reliable cars if treated properly. The 92-95 Ex came with a D16z6 which was all featured in the Si of the same years. When you find the one you want you will know. Good luck

Q: 2001 honda civic si timing belt or chain?

A: Honda uses CHAINS on all of its K series engines, so I will make it easy ALL civic Si's from 02 - present have CHAINS There is no 2001 civic Si

Q: IS A 2001 HONDA CIVIC SI WITH 130 KM MANUAL TRANS WORTH FOR $5700?

A: the miles are pretty good for the year...about 16k per year. if the car is in good condition and it has no mechanical problems, yea its easily worth $5700. Also, check that it has not been wrecked. if u want to kno about how much it is appraised for by the book depending on its condition, check in kelleys blue book-- kbb.com

Q: How to figure out if it is really civic si 2001?
Hi all, I bought a honda civic 2001 coupe. I was always wondering if it is really civic si. Since the last owner took off the civic sign back of the car. Without that sign it really looks similuar for first timer. I open the hood and can see v-tec engine. Are there any different way to check it out? Please kindly advice me! Many thanks in advance!

A: I will tell you right now that it is not because Honda did not make the Si model for the 2001 model year. Another clue would be if your car is an automatic. The Si has never been an automatic. If your car has a sunroof, it is an EX. If it doesn't, it is an LX. The 2000 and the 2002 Si are different generations and have very different looks. The 2000 is a true coupe and the 2002 was a hatchback.

Q: TRUE HONDA KNOWER's! HONDA CIVIC SI ENGINE SWAP?
i would like to know somthing. could i swap the engine of my 2.0 l4 engine from my 2006 honda civic si to my 2001 honda civic si? or would it be better and faster (stock with more liters etc.) to switch it from an acura integra. if the acura, what year and such. thanks! what is the best possible with the most horsepower and torque, and the most liters that i could put into my honda civic si.

A: u can put a b20 or a b18c1 which is a gsr integra. and the b20 idk they all kinda suck overall. the best b18 would be a b18c out of an integra type-r. but that would all be hard since those civics are the first of the non B series motors. the best K series motor you can put in either of those cars is the K20a. which is the new Civic Type-R motor. sorry i dont know much about those im more of a B series kinda guy. but i can find out whatever you want to know about them.

Q: which one 2006 honda civic si or 2001 audi tt?
something reliable and safe fast and looks great

A: The Civic si is more reliable, gets better fuel economy, looks better and is cheaper and easier to maintain. The Audi TT is faster, but parts are expensive to replace. Given the options, I would go with the Civic Si. You might also consider a 2005-2007 supercharged Chevy Cobalt SS. It is cheaper than the Civic and Audi, cheaper and easier to repair and beleive it or not is faster than the Audi TT and Civic si. The 5 speed Audi TT makes 180 horsepower and the 6 speed Audi TT makes 225, but it outweighs the Cobalt SS by about 400lbs which give the Cobalt the power to weight ratio advantage against the Audi TT

Q: will a 2001 toyota celica gt-s beat a 2000 honda civic si?

A: i think your celica would win.

Q: Moving up from a 2001 Dodge Neon to a 2009 Honda Civic Si? Good transition?
I have a 2001 Dodge Neon with 165,000 miles on it (no, I don't know how it lasted that long). I am getting a new car this fall when I start my first job after graduating from college. I really like the Honda Civic Si (cheap to maintain, relatively good gas mileage, cheap to insure, Honda quality). I loved my Neon and thought it drove very sporty. Will I be happy with the Honda Civic Si (considering that I'm coming from a Dodge Neon)? Comments or suggestions?

A: hell yah best transion in your life lol that neon might last till 200M the civic 500 easily and U can always supercharger or turbo charge the civic there will always b more ppl that willl want it when ur done with it

Q: where can i get a drop kit for a honda civic 2001?
i have a 2001 honda civic....i had been riding in stock SI rims soo i heated the spring to give it a dropped look....now i put some 17 inch rims and wen i drive the car carves of the tires because its too low...wer can i get a drop kit that i can set at just the perfect lowest level as i can?

A: most aftermarket suspension companies make adjustable shocks and struts that you can manually raise and lower to whatever hight you need. you might be able to have an autoparts store order one for you. but if they wont and there are no real aftermarket auto parts stores around you will have to go online. tein bilstien of course eibach just depends they will all give you the same results with minor difference so it just depends what you want and how much you want to spend
