Q: Which ECU comes standard in the 2000 Honda Civic Si?
I swapped a 2000 civic SI engine in my 95 shell. I want to get my ecu chipped, but everyone tell me to buy a P28.
1. If the 2000 Si comes with the P28 then i wont have to search for one
2. Is there a major difference on what ECU i use when i get it chipped and tuned.

Q: how much does it cost to replace 1 ball joint on a honda 2000 civic si?
I have a civic 2000 si and when i bought it from the guy he said the back wheel shakes when i brake and he said it could be a ball joint so i would like to know how much is it for a ball joint for one wheel and how much would it cost for a mechanic to do it?

I was wondering, before I go and make a purchase, If a standard 7" Double DIN Screen would fit my 2000 Honda Civic SI without having to do any cutting or custom fitment. I would purchase a Double DIN Install Kit, but I just wanted some opinions on the matter.

A: The answer your looking for is yes. You can purchase a double din kit right from metra its the 99-7801. No cutting needed its the same dash style as my 99 civic and fits nice. Hope this helps

A: yes 96-98 civic can switch out for the 99-00 civic si style tail lights just make sure you get them from a 2 door. 4 door tails wont fit the coupe.

A: Depending on where you live and depending on the shop you take it to, for instance if you took it to a mom and pop garage probably 400-500 bucks, dealership is probably gonna charge between 700 and a grand. In my opinion find a reputable local shop with positive feedback and talk to them. Haggle the price a little, usually they'll work with you.

A: AEM intake are normally good for Honda's and hks exhaust are perfect but as far as exhaust goes anything stainless steel, with a high flow cat-back exhaust would do the trick.

A: Sure. All you need to do is buy a 2000 or similar model year Civic Si that already has an automatic transmission. Then you need to remove the transmission, ECU, complete wirting harness, CV shafts, mounts, shifter assembly, center console, pedal assembly and brake master cylinder and transfer all of these into your current car - after removing the existing tranny of course.
Or you could just sell the manual tranny car and buy one with an automatic. It will cost substantially less, the car will have resale value (which your Frankenstein won't) and it will be reliable to boot.

Checked both switches on the clutch pedal. Both switches function well and ohm out good. No brocken wires or blown fuse found. Jumpered both switches at different times. No go. Dash lights come on, signals/wipers/horn work. What could we have done wrong or was there a prep for this job?
A: security lock out may have been trigerd try to lock and unlock drivers door with key and start car it works on dodges
there is a start fuse and relay under the hood also

A: well you'll need a trans, axles, shiftlinkage and ecu... you can find that stuff for 7-800.. your call.
the Si will always be worth more.. but if you like wrenchin on honduhs then just get the ex...

A: You would most likely get 190hp out of it after that. You should check out Edelbrocks new line of Performance parts for Honda Civics. You can buy complete packages the includes a turbo, Intake, Computer Chip, Throttle body, Cool Air intake, and much more depending on how much your willing to spend. I have seen a 1992 Honda civic with a Edelbrock Victor X Intake and the Performer X Turbo kit that made an amazing 315hp. I couldn't believe it. I also wasent laughfing at after it blew the doors off a 1968 Mustang down the 1320. If you just buy a Performer X Turbo kit from edelbrock they garantee and extra 100hp out of your civic. That meens you would get about 260hp out of your civic.
Head to your closest Edelbrock Dealer today or check out there wed site for Sport Compact cars.

The 1999-2000 Honda Civic Si is the best looking Si Honda ever made. It came with the B16A2 DOHC VTEC engine outputting 160 HP and it was also the last year that Honda used the double wishbone suspension.
Some people that live in states like California have STRICT smog/emissions test so therefore they can't always go with JDM B16A if they decide to do an engine swap in their car.
The B16A2 was the USDM engine so it was smog legal. If someone wanted to buy a B16A2 engine it would be hard to find since most people who have them don't sell them.
Usually when someone steals a 1999-2000 Honda Civic Si they don't keep the car for themselves. They part it out and get a really good profit off of the parts because some people with 1996-2000 Honda Civic DX/LX/EX like to do Si conversions with their car and they prefer to use OEM parts.
