Q: What else to enhance the horsepower of a 2000 honda civic ex?
I have a 2000 honda civic ex coupe model. Its a manual transmission. I am trying to enhance the speed. So far, i have a short rim intake(aem brand) & a decent looking exhaust. I want to add headers to it also. What else can i do to it? Also, if anyone can knows of any websites where i can obtain info & get cheap prices. Thanks
A: You probally already know this, but remove any thing you can live without. spare tire, jack, glove box liner.any thing. loosing 100lbs is the same as gaining 10 hp. 10 FREE hp. Good luck.
Q: What is the best radio for a 2000 Honda Civic Ex?

Q: How to remove factory head unit in a 2000 Honda Civic Ex coupe?
I'm looking to upgrade my factory head unit so I can use my I-pod. I've done it on other cars but never a Honda Civic. I need some step by step instructions with pictures ~Thanks
A: The source should be what you need. It looks like you are lucky - 1996-1998 Civics integrated the remote keyless entry receiver into the radio, requiring the old radio to be mounted under the dash just to keep the keyless entry working! The 1999-2000 instructions do not have that warning.
Q: question concering 2000 honda civic ex?
i recently bought a used 2000 honda civic ex, only 88,000 miles on it. i bought it used so that i could use some extra money left over for a few things, mind you i test drove it and got a carfax report which it showed everything to be fine, i've done:
1. new spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor
2. new fuel filter, air filter
3. new tires on it,
4, new timing belt, alternator belt and fan, plus new water pump
5. radiator flush and brake flush
only problem is after doing this the idiot who worked on broke my exhaust valve which they had the honesty to tell me about it and fixed it for free, my only real question is i've had this car checked out and everything seems to be fine, besides probably later on doing brake pads and drums, shocks / struts, i believe in doing preventative maintance, is there anything else i should do, also note i'm not planning on put body kits or anything on it. any honest, helpful suggestions would be useful also this car is manual transmission
A: even though it is a manual trans you should still drain and put fresh fluid in it about once a year this will save on the trans . other then that your on the right track.
Q: Installing cold air intake on 2000 honda civic ex?
Does anyone know a website or article that could help me install a cai on a 2000 honda civic ex? a website with how-to pictures would be awesome. i cant really find any how-to's for my car. thanks
A: not really sure, but what i did was just unbolt/unscrew the factory intake and yanked out the filter box and took off the intake pipe and any other pipes holding on to it out and put the new intake in
Q: Bad Gas Mileage In 2000 Honda Civic EX?
I have a 2000 Honda Civic Ex 2dr 1.6L and when i first bought it (used) it was getting about 320 miles on a tank and now it has dropped to about 220 miles to a tank. I have changed the air filter and spark plugs. Any ideas?
Lately I have been driving it and the first couple of gears (it is a manual) sputters when i get up to a certain rpm. I also had the computer checked and it said it has mis fires.
A: It's best to take it to a mechanic. They can hook up a machine to it and troubleshoot it pretty quick. It could be something like an oxygen sensor, catalytic converter or several other components.
Q: What is the best way to achieve lowering with great ride quality in my 2000 Honda Civic Ex?
I heard through my research that cheap coilovers and lowering springs cause a very bad and bouncy ride quality. I want to lower my Honda possibly 2 inches, not too low but want to get rid of the ugly gap on a decent set up of 16" rims. I forgot the tire size but it's not a big tire. Any help is greatly appreciated! any thoughts on camber kits, new shock, etc. would be helpfull!
A: Get good quality of lowering springs if you want to lower your car to ensure good quality ride. Also this will not ruin your camber and suspension. Try TEIN and JAMEX lowering spring for your civic. Hope this help!
Q: what are the cheapest upgrades for a 2000 honda civic ex?
im really new at cars and just want to start off with the little things, i have a stock 00' civic but i dont know where to start for the mods
p.s. can i just bring my car to the car wash and spray the engine with water to clean it or do i have to clean it by hand?
A: basic upgrades:
-replace the air intake- AEM is a good brand
-change/replace the headers- DC sports....etc.
-change/replace the exhaust pipes...two or two and a quarter inch is good
-buy a quick shifter
-coil over springs
-cams
-upgrade the clutch
-spark plugs and spark plug wires
-and a lot more............you could either buy it brand new or used (craigslist.org)
*yes you can but try to avoid spraying the "electronic stuff" like the fuse box or anything that has to do with wiring.
Q: How much is Salvage Title 2000 Honda Civic Ex coupe w/52k miles?
How much should I pay for a Salvage title:
2000 Honda Civic ex Coupe
Miles: 52k
Automatic
Color: White
Condition: Clean, 2nd owner with vehicle maint. service record from previous owner.
I'm not sure how much I should being offering. The current asking price is $7500.00 which is insane for a salvage title.
I'm thinking $3500?
A: I agree with NiceCarDeal.
Don't buy this car. The condition is not clean because it is salvaged.
This means the car, at one time, had an accident that was so bad that the cost to repair was more than the car was worth.
That must have been really bad on a Civic, since they are one of the top cars in overall resale.
Salvaged cars are not safe, have the tendency to need premature, costly repairs and you will never be able to sell it to anyone else for more than parts.
Pass on a salvaged vehicle...there are too many other cars out there to pick from.
Q: how much horsepower will these give my 2000 honda civic ex?
i bought this civic and it came with dc racing exhaust and greddy hedders. i think this car 127 horsepower stock how much do you think it will have with these additions? i want to know because i plan on putting more aftermarket parts on it.
to john d, what do you reccomend i get?
A: 10 is probably correct, maybe slightly more, if you really want beneficial hp increase you have to increase air supply and fuel supply as well, think of it as a balancing act. sure you will get some increase by doing one or two of these things. but to get full potential you need to balance all three together to get as much out as possible individually
Q: Will the axle's from a 2000 Honda civic EX, fit onto a 1997 Honda Civic EX?
I need my two axle's replaced on my 97 Honda Civic EX, and found a 2000 Honda civic EX and would like to know if the axle's from that car would fit on mine.... Anyone know?
A: yes should be the same part, 96-00 parts are interchangeable, but only for the same model you could not take an SI Axel and fit it into an EX model
Q: Will a 1999-2000 honda civic coupe bumper fit a 1997 honda civic ex coupe?
Im about to buy a new bumper for my 1997 honda civic ex and liked the 1999-2000 style bumpers(i guessed called bumper covers). well my real question is would it fit properly????
i have seen cars in google pictures with them on.
A: if you mean lip kits:
http://assets.pakwheels.com/forums/2009/10/28/92306e2f5a9fbce2b5731640a901b21c_41039697401256627075_3E2_PakWheels(com).jpg
like this thin black strip @ the bottom of the bumper, no there slightly different.
if your asking if a 99-00 Civic Front Bumper will fit a 96-98 no not properly without a front end conversion (headlights/grille/fenders).
like this its called a bra:
http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss66/Mosunsanmi/DSC01425.jpg
it would fit but not properly if used from the 96-98 to 99-00.

Q: How much would a new clutch cost for a 2000 Honda Civic Ex?
I'm not going to be doing it myself. I'm not buying the clutch myself off the internet or anything. I just want to go in (to a very respectable shop that I've been happily using for years) and ask for a new clutch. How much should I expect?
A: $500, + or - $100 depending on the shop
